Swades is a magnificient movie-even though it does contain its share of mistakes..But then who doesn't commit mistakes?Hats off to Ashutosh and his entire team for making such a wonderful movie... But sir, I want to ask you an important question.Your protagonists in Lagaan as well as Swades are heroes coz they show us the only way out of our pathetic state of affairs-i.e. through unity and co-operation. Then how come when this year's official entry to the oscars-"Shwaas" needed 1.5 crores for promotions at Oscars 2005-niether you nor Aamir nor shahrukh have come forward to do anything??? If this isnot the height of indifference and hypocrisy,then what is?
the swadesh the movie in my opinion is the one of the movie with an objective and not that all indian movies with dance and songs with all the masala
well on my side , this movie is projecting the rigth soloution which the indians should think about the world.
the best part of the movie is that living with our ideals and the principals , we the Indians could take on the world.
well the only difference which we should change is about our attitude towards life and stop blaming god or our bad luck or our fate for the mishappening which occur to us .
well this is the right time when we should reconsider our wrong beliefs and try to make india in the right direction
Swades is a remake of Kannada movie Chigurida Kanasu. This must be an eye-opener for those who criticize Kannada movies. Returning to roots is the idea of Shivaram Karanth, which he has depicted in his other novels like "Marali Mannige", "Bettada Jeeva". It is surprising that how Ashutosh can produce a similar story by himself in first shot unless he is capable of more than jnaana peeta award - Nobel prize. It is very ironical that some self-esteemless Kannadigas who feel Kannada movies are of inferior standard, will see such remake movies and feel enlightened. Those who haven't seen good movies like Chigurida Kanasu have no right to comment on Kannada films. Also, it is very interesting to note that "Lagaan" had traces of another Kannada film "Hagaluvesha" (another Shivaraj Kumar's film) which was made 2 years earlier than Lagaan. I loved the movie . very well done by Gowariker........and hopefully others will follow suite soon and stop churning out craps like main hoon na and veer zaara. Atleast once in a while a movie comes as a whip of fresh air. Many simply dint like the concept a revolution in a village .I loved the concept and more imporatantly the style of filmaking simplistic yet elegant. and sharukh, i used not to like him before but now simply i am amazed . gret way to go . hope he continues up from here and does some meaningful cinema.
SWADES -- we the people, is to be watched by all the INDIAN's. Director had done a great job by showing how today's youngster are moving for better life to abroad countries. And forgetting that they all belong to a great country (MERA Bharth.How this country's backbone(villages, farmers) are getting weaker day-by-day. I think every Indian should contribute something to our country in their life time. Director had contributed his part by this movie (Swades). While watching this movie teares were running from my eyes till the end. I Love emotion movies. After a long gap Bollywood has produced a great movie. IF this movie doesnt get nominated for any award it doesnt matter because it as won all the hearts of the people who are in abroad ( I am one among them). I am student from UK's top universities, was planning to get a job and settle but after watching this movie I changed my mind and booked a non-returing ticket to INDIA. This is true. I know, I am doing a right thing and going in right direction. I want to thank the DIRECTOR for making a great movie ever made by Bollywood. The music in this movie is heart touching. Hats-off to Mr. SR Khan for his acting in this movie.---B.M Mohan
