i think the movie is brilliant which makes every one cry, because it is dealing with the bitter reality of today, the performances by amitabh and hema are brilliant ,and music by aadesh shrivastava who happens to be of my city jabalpur is extremely soothing.full marks to all who are part of this movie ,for bringing out a beautiful movie for audiences after a long time.

Big Screen Soap Opera!

Imagine watching yr favourite soap in one go instead of the usual 30 minute episodes...thats Baghban for you.
This movie should have been made decades ago by a madras studio when family melodramas were the norm. Only hanky-happy sentimental people who cant resist weeping at emotional scenes would enjoy this movie.
If you are looking for an evening of entertainment this movie is not for you...You may see it only for the outstanding performance of Amithab and the ever beautiful Hema.
My recommendation is that its not worth paying big bucks to watch this movie at your favorite multiplex...catch it at home on VCD or wait for it to be aired by one of the TV channels.
BTW, my wife thought it was good...but ladies are like that!

I posted 2 days ago, as a comment, but it didnt appear so far. Not only mine, but also no other comment was added after that. That time there were 20 comment, now also the same 20 are there.

Does it mean that rediff dont allow more than 20 comments? If yes, then its very bad. In that case, it should not allow people to post comment, once 20 are already there, at least it should be written clearly that no more than 20 comments will be added.

Kamal Gupta
Fabulous
by Kamal Gupta on Oct 06, 2003 08:21 PM

Its good to see Amitabh in a full length role after long time. Its not like total 10 mins role in some of his previous movies. His acting is fabulous and he is playing his age. Also HemaMalini looks like younger sister of Esha Deol in some of the frames.

Best Performance by Amitji.
by Rajesh Madhukar Kulkarni on Oct 06, 2003 05:22 PM

I saw Baghban on the 2nd day of its release with my whole family.

So what people are saying that is a remake of this film and that film,

It is the most beautiful film in recent times with great performance by

Amitabh and Hema.Amitabh has proven that in such a age only he can not

only act well but sing(give playback) and dance as well. All other actors

except Paresh Rawal and Hema Malini look so small before him.

Amitabh keeps us emotionally involved and makes us cry and touched with

his acting it looks as if he is not performing but it is actually

happening before us.Especially his scene on Telephone which brings back

the nostalic moments of Mahaan make us to applaude him.

No wonder he is the superstar of the Millenium.
