A tremendous script, heart-moving dialogues, fabulous performances by the lead characters, high emotional quotient and just enough light0hearted moments make this movie a must-see! Its a must-see especially for the younger generation for them to learn a few moral lessons in behaviour to one's parents! The best performance by AB in 90's..whether its the energy in ChaliChali & Holi songs, the huge screen presence reminiscent of his 80's dominance of Hindi cinema,etc.. But, Salman is a mis-fit in this film . He is not believable as that ideal son. Some scenes are too overdone. Like the scene where, out of respect to his parents, Salman is shown lying beside his parents's bed. Also, the immediate transformation of Mahima Choudhary from mini-skirts in London to dupatta-odhing, early morn bhajan singer and all etiquettes reminiscent of the woman in perhaps the '50s is too much. But, except for these minor blemishes the movie is a mist-see

he rightly deserves the actor of milenium award and i wish he gets the best actor award for baghban and not hrithik for koi mil.... he sucked in that movie.. bachan is the best and remain the best
this movie officially becoming the 2nd super duper hit after KMG, proves that audience are getting tired of lovey-dovey candy floss which the karan johars,yash chopras and shah rukh khans have to offer.. Love still rules, but the only when the mind is shown to be in place. ANd rediff..please update your BO rating..it just shows how average that column is..by rating the BO collection as average for this movie. GO get the facts right.!

I good family movie after a long time, amitabhji is excellent. the film show the basic value of a family, our parents and there love towords us. i think that this film should be watched by every young fellow who think that only being a good person in society is enough which is not correct . only A self respecting person is have the right to be in the society. A character shown in the film which has given his parents the ststus of god. This is very right.
Good to see Amitabh & Hema together, but loose story lineup & nothing very new about the repeated family drama which could be made interesting looking at the starcast, movie for the people who see less movies & enjoy high drama
I think director portrayed sons as bad charecters, which I think is not right completely. There are good children in these days also. But it is completely an emotional film. Amitab and Hema malini are simply superb.
My Suggestion to all those who read this, is take care of your parents for sure,if you want to live longer......
