Even Dr.Krishnaswamy wants to change the name of the movie sandiyar i dont think there a reason behind that every one in tamil nadu know that kamalhassan wants to keep pure tamil name for his movies.
even a movie names varrar sandiyar has been released in tamil a few years ago where is mr krishnaswamy at that time
he wants to make a politicial fight with cinema stars what Dr,Ramadoss did with Rajini Kanth they just wanted to show them that they all still in polotics and wants to create an iamge on them
its a selfish attempt by Dr.Swamy

SANDIAR

People should see movies as merely movies .... I guess Kamal's SANDIAR isnt any worse than the stunts done by the politicians. Simply as Kamal dosent criticize the politicians, he should be left alone to do what he does best, shoot films.

Sandiar Controversy
by madhu on May 17, 2003 04:26 PM

These people have no locus standi and stature to talk about one of the greatest contemporary actors and now a film maker. It is absurd to judge a film by its name alone. The name is more for the regional identity than anything else.

Sandiyar

Dr.Krishnaswamy's defenition for sandiyar is not correct. It is anyway not attached caste tag with it. Sandiyar is a care free person added with little bit roudisam. There is no necessity he should be a anti-social elements. However protest and remark of Dr.Krishnaswamy has given the much wanted publicity to the flim, which is yet to be completed. It is benefitial to Kamala Hasan only, seeing his resolve to go further unperturbed in making this flim

What is in a name?

Krishnaswamy is terribly wrong with his views regarding the film. What does he know about that film without even aware of the storyline.Kamal hasan is a film maker who involves and gives out his best in all aspects of his film making.Well film after film he is criticised and he proves his critics wrong with his deeds.Hats off to Kamal Hassan.Hope this film makes an earnest impact on the society.

It is sad that Dr.Krishnaswamy is not able to appreciate the message behind a great film like 'Thevar Magan'. Anyone who had seen that film would appreciate the fact it very strongly denounces violence, the family battles that are seen in all the rural communities and casteism.
You cannot make a film preaching non-violence without showing it. 'Thevar Magan' is a rural Indian version of 'GodFather'. That is all. It may be true that some narrow minded people maybe using just that single song from the film for wrong propaganda but we should see the full picture and the its impact on the general community.

Similar accusations are made whenever a good film on contemporary themes are made. First 'Hey Ram' was portrayed as a film against Gandhi (notwithstanding many explanations and even Tushar Gandhi's words) and Congress was up in arms. Finally the Communists of West Bengal decided to give an award after they realised the true greatness of the film!.
Who knows, even Dr.Krishnaswamy may end up appreciating 'Sandiyar' once the film is released.
Even the Hindu Radical image created by 'Hey Ram' was totally offset when he played the role of a communist so wonderfully in 'Anbe Sivam'
