I request Rediff to either employ a person who knows the state-of-affairs in Tamil Nadu or STOP publishing such ERROR-RIDDEN articles. Seems that the person, who has written it, is COMPLETELY IGNORANT of the context of his/her article.
1. Kamals utterance isnt new. Some time back he mentioned his intention to join politics stating that Politics & Politicians have turned rotten, etc, etc,. But, then back-tracked, giving equally funny reasons.
2. Rajnikanths political overtones commenced only during the concluding years of the previous AIADMK rule and NOT 15 years back, as mentioned in the article
3. Everyone in Tamil Nadu knows that BAASHA was released during the previous AIADMK regime because it was during its centenary function that Rajni lambasted the government & police.
4. Hey Ram was released few years back and Aalavandan is also NOT Kamals recent movie but YES, both were COLLOSAL FLOPS. But, Thenali was a BIG hit. Panchatandiram and Pammal K Sambandam were AVERAGE. Sadly his latest Anbe Sivam despite being a GOOD MOVIE, bombed.
kamal's movies may not be as successful as rajani's.but qualitywise most of kamal's movies are far superior to that of rajani's.kala experiments with new themes.so kamal can be proud of trying new themes not churning the outdated unrealistic movies
Hope Kamal won't go Rajni way, he has his own way to go, We (Kamal Well wisheres) feel Kamal should not support any party (Especially AIADMK)and he should,nt start any own party also, instead he should support candidate whoever contesting in Election according his (Candidate's)back ground.
It is definitely not fare to say that kamal is going the Rajni way. If that's the case the first thing he would have imitated is the rajni way of making movies for the masses which thunders the boxoffice. But he never did that. kamal has always been one who wants his seperate identity to shine. He always makes different movies and excels in tougher roles which other heroes don't even dare to touch. I also wonder how brilliant movies of kamal like Heyram and Aalavandhan been heavily criticised by critics of the north, when some absurd movies made by his couterparts in the bollywood has been given undue credit. The bollywood counterparts mostly imitate movies from the west and boast of themselves as doing something different. for example if u take the film ashoka which showcased the love story of shahrukhkhan and kareena in the entire film rather than the true story of ashoka. The film was absolutely stupid. But i read an article which quoted that the film was a piece of history in indian cinema. But no credit was given to HEYRAM which absolutely showcased the true emotion of INDIA during the time of partition. I'M just shocked to know that still differences between states exist.
This one goes into those very rare list of pretty ordinary articles published in rediff.com kamal is known for his innovations and creative thoughts in tamil film industry and has a different matured-band of fanfare when compared to those of rajni. none of his films ever were portraying him as a hero or the leader of the people. Given the current fastly changing social scenarios in tamil nadu, kamal knows very well that even if rajni(the largest crowd puller next to MGR in Tamil nadu's history) is wanting to start a political movement, he would have a tough time organising it!!!.
It is wrong to say that Thenali didn't fare well in the box office. It was a super duper hit and regained Kamal's position in the industry. I think the report is absolutely stupid. The author should check facts before writing something.
PLease stop such sus standard news clips.If you are posting news from tamil nadu just to cover the region, then please stop it.There are lot of magazines and news channels available in tamil nadu which give more accurate news with regional flavour.The things mentioned in your news article is just not in tune with most of the tamilians mindset.We expect more...
KamalHassan is a living Oscar and he is not a man to act only for money besides he acts in a way which a public like me enjoys.There is a vast difference between Kamal way and Rajini way.Rajini one time if he say it's like 100 times.Kamal one time if he say it's forever.
Kamal and Rajni are two extreme and totally different personalities in Kollywood today. While Kamal struggled to get to this position whereas Rajni with more people support reached a peak. Kamal's statement infer his thoughts on supporting a political party whereas Rajni is in the threshold of making a new.
Both these stars can turn fate of any state and can also change the state of any fate.
