Hungama,not a paresh rawal movie all the way. All characters does well and finally provide full 3hours of fun n frolic. After all I was getting bored seeing these headless horror flicks..
The movie is a remake of Priyadarshan's first hit movie in Malayalam. Even with all the sub-plots and multitudes of characters, it was a very enjoyable movie. However, it remains to be seen if he was able to re-create the magic in Hindi - in Mumbai climes. Of his earlier attempts at remakes in Hindi (all of Priyadarshan's movies in Hindi are remakes of old Malayalam hits - only Hungama is "his own"), only Hera pheri was successful. Let us see the fate of this movie. For those that maybe interested, here is the list of his old movies, their original names and film makers:

The only problem is that he never gives the names of these film makers in the titles. Probably, that's the reason why his movies in Hindi do not become massive hits, no matter how technically perfect he makes them. Honesty matters, perhaps.
u forgot to mention more of priyadarshan's remakes like : virasat - thevar magan by bharathan saat rang ke sapne - thenmavin kombathu muskurahat - kilukkam among this virasat was a super hit due to some solid performances by tabu, anil kapoor etc. also there was a priyan film called kabhi na kabhi starring anil kapoor, jackie & pooja bhatt. the film was a gr8 flop. i think it was not a remake but it has inspired by priyan's malayalam movies like aram + aram = kinnaram. priyan is proving again & again that he is a no.1 copy cat. let's hope that he will sooon stop this trend & create some good movies. if he starts remaking his recent malayalam movies then movie viewers wl stop watching his movies as his recent movies are not even having a decent opening down south. hope priyadarsan soon realises this!!!
what's happenin' with priyadarshan??? it seems he is in lack of subjects. he has made another remake from malayalam. but thanks god! this time he has remade his movie only. so we can forgive him. hungama is ditto copy of his first movie "POOCHAKKORU MOOKUTHI" which he made in malayalam. the said film had some nice comic moments from malayalam superstar MOHANLAL. but in hungama nothing of that sort is there. only paresh rawal seems to be good. atleast in malaylam there was some reality to the characteres. here it is said that Rimi is a village girl. But she is seen roaming around in tight hip clothes. it seems priyan has lost his creativity. Priyan pls wake up... U hv done a lot of good films in Malayalam. So pls try to make some good films in hindi which is a hindi movie in all aspects. Atleast the audience over here can accept that. U hv experiences in the past that the movies which u remade from other languages have not done well in hindi. Hera pheri & Virasat are the exceptions for that. till then u hv not learned ???

Hungama is more brilliant than Poochakoru Mookuthi. Paresh Rawal Outscores Nedumudi, Shoma Anand - Sukumari, Aftab - Shankar, Rimi Sen - Menaka. Only Akshay could not match Mohanlal, however we did well in the film. It is technically much brilliant than Poochakoru......
Dear reader, don't be misguided by the writer's comment.
I am sure that the writer has no sence of humor, or may be he forgot the same at home before leaving to see the film.
It is full Govidna-David Dhavan type comedy, No Brain, No Pain just gain (Luagh).
Enjoy the life as it comes.
I personally liked the film. All the performances are also good enough. Definitly it would have been better film but ther is always gap for improvement, even its there in Sholay and Mother-India.
its really another Marvellous Comedy after Hera Pheri by Priyadarshan. its really a kind of refreshing feeling after watching the film last night. Hilarious movie one like to enjoy with frends as well as with Family. Performances by actors is rally gr8 specially by Paresh Rawal. Akshey as usual Gr8 and impressive after serious roles after in Last3 of his Movies.Even this is his first Comedy but he is really gr8 innperformaning the role of JITU.
Plot and story is good coming out of the confusion by the name of Anjali.Which entered in the lifes of the characters.
dialouges are also Good and Music is really Melodious Specially Pari Pari......
all and all a gr8 movie to watch never a time i feel bore while watching the film.. also me 7 mry whole group keeps on njoying and Laughing not only us but the Whole Cinema hall is full of "Thahakas"....
its really a fun i must say those who like high quality and good knowledge of comedy movies must watch it

there's no pain in lifting the stories of hit movies made by other directors. Priyadarshan is doing only that. Lift the stories of hit films from malayalam & re-make it over here. His last hit Hera Pheri is the re-make of Malayalam hit RAMJI RAO SPEAKING in each & every frame.if he is such a gr8 director of comedy y doesn't his other films work??? what happened to Yeh tera ghar Yeh mera ghar, Saat rang ke sapne, doli saja ke rakhan? or hv u forgot the disastrous fate of Anil-Jackie-Pooja Bhatt starrer Kabhi na Kabhi? it's hilarious if Priyadarshan is described as a whiz kid or gr8 comedy director. I admit he has done some good movies in Malayalam. But in Hindi HE has not yet done a script which is made for Hindi only.
"This Friday sees the releases of three other films, Chori Chori, 3 Deewarein and Oops! Maybe you should watch one of these and catch Hungama when it airs on television."

Dear reviewer, you can air your opinion on the movie, just that please. People have enough knowledge to decide where to watch the movie and when.
Whether the movie was confusing or not, the REVIEW was absolutely confusing. Even i read, rate and write reviews on a very popular Indian Review site and i find the style there infinitely better. A site like rediff should not post such confusing reviews, however confusing the movie might be! Sorry for the honest opinion Regards N
This Movie is a remake of a Telugu movie in early 80s It was called GOPALA RAO GARU AMMAI(Daughter of gopal rao) which is now played by paresh rawal That movie was too good but the remake doesnt prmise the same Anyway a good comedy
Dont anybody beleive this review!! Hungama is a great film !! TOo good! This review is biased! After reading their wrong and biased review by rediff, I am not even going to look up the other views this site offers. Rediff is not dependable.

The telugu movie was a remake of the priyadarshan original malayalam movie. Infact that was priyan's first movie as a director.
