Hungama: Fresh air
by Shamit on May 02, 2005 01:32 PM

Hungama brings fresh air of fun to each viewer. After Hera Pheri this one from Priyadarshan also lives us laughing. Both Akshay and Aftab plays their role excellently. But Paresh Rawal is the out of the world attraction, in his best comedy role till date. Rimi Sen looks good and acts well. Among others Soma Anand and Rajpal Yadav also contributes well.

A remake does'nt mean a
by Roadrocketer on Mar 21, 2005 03:22 PM

According to Vamsi's comment, Priyan's a copycat and Hungama was lifted from an old telegu movie, but Vamsi if you know the original is a very old Malayalam movie named "Poochakaaru Mani Kettum", which was written and directed by Priyan himself, so I do not see any harm in sharing a movie that spreads smile with a broader audience!

A very enjoyable film, indeed
by Imran on Sep 23, 2003 06:44 PM

It is a hillarous movie, though a little "loud", so what. It made me laugh especially that "fight!!" scene in the restaurant between Akhshay and Aftab. It is a good entertaining movie...though I agree the sub-plots were conveniently forgotten in the climax, so what. Take any Hindi movie and there are thousands of such mistakes and error and "how comes".

Humgama: A superb Comedy after a long time
by SUSHANT on Sep 16, 2003 09:27 PM

In the times of so called horror movies Humgama is really different and refreshing. Actually second half of the movies was an absolute laugh riot. Actually after watching the movie I continued laughing for half an hour rememebering the different scenes from the movie. ACCORDING TO ME THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST COMEDIES OF OUR HINDI CINEMA.

Good Movie Ever
by Sarfaraz Abbasi on Sep 07, 2003 02:48 AM

I like movie to the extent I could come to halt my laughter, as it was one of the funniest movies that I like the most. New Actress like sen has shown that she too might standby the mid actresses like Karishma and so on. Keep all you characters in the movie up, as you did perform well. An appreciation from a Sindhi boy from Larkano.

What Rot !
by shuvo on Sep 03, 2003 10:04 AM

Thats a very very biased review. The movie sets out to entertain and it does with aplomb ! So what it there is no depth in the characters etc etc ?!
The bottomline is that if you go to watch a comedy and it succeeds in making you laugh all through, then it's good.

Frankly it reminded me of the Hrishikesh Mukherjee comedies.

A lovely movie. Period.

CRAPPIEST REVIEW EVER WRITTEN
by Piyush on Sep 01, 2003 11:05 PM

This review forced me to take time to become a member and criticize the review. Confusing? should there not be a minimum grey cell criteria before someone is selcted as a reviewer.
The review is grossly unfair to a rare good, different and hilarious movie. What do you want Ronjita, that director should make same formula movies and you can cut and paste criticize them. Take a break and give us a break.

Vidooshak
nonsense of humour
by Vidooshak on Sep 01, 2003 08:11 PM

Hey, rediff! Get a critic with the basic qualifications to review a comedy film at least. Asking for a sense of humour isn't too much, is it? This critic should stick to watching Kyunki Saas Bahu... and other such fare. Bet you a domain name, she absolutely adores those serials!!!!

Hungama was a throat-aching, jaw-breaking, limb-flapping, eye-watering, giggle-in-the-train comedy. Almost the entire theatre was rolling on the floor--- literally! And I'm sure many of them burst into chuckles the next day, on way to work. Much to the amazement of fellow passengers on the Andheri local.

The movie was recommended to me by my office-boy on day 2 of release. Saw it yesterday after some reluctance (I am a "classy" viewer, after all).
Called him (he has a cell, of course!) immediately after the movie to express my gratitude. This is THE movie to watch after a week of stress and confusions. I took my parents for it. Absolute "quality family time" spent. Ahem!

I hope Rajpal Yadav gets the Best Comedian award at Fimfare this year. He was soooo good, i wished the film had 2 intermissions to digest the jokes well.

'Hungama' reminded one of old Hrishikesh comedies... Thank u, Priyan!
