Lifting??
by Deepa on Aug 01, 2003 10:42 PM  | Hide replies

Priyadarshan knows how to carefully lift from other filems in bits & pieces. After reading the review I was able to recall most scenes from other S.Indian films and he says he doesnt lift!!!
And bollywood calls him a whizkid!!! Irony!!
Where have we come!

this film is not a copy of S. indian films in bits & pieces but it is an out & out copy of Priyan's directorial debut POOCHAKKORU MOOKKUTHI(which means nosering for the cat). He is a copy maestro. he has turned to hindi as his films are not working down south. but fate he is giving flops in bollywood also. he has only two hits in bollywood in the name of Hera Pheri & Virasat(that too copies of south indian movies of other creative directors) out of the 7 films he has made. very bad. how come he is called a creative director???

hungama is a good movie.
by Viral on Aug 01, 2003 09:26 PM

hungama is a good movie, it delivers great performances by the artists. i think the rediff review was sad. usually the reviews out here are good, but this one was pathetic to say the least. i doubt if youll would publish this since it is against your site. but i hope youll do. whoever wrote the rediff review was being to critical like kaled mohmaad. and when he made a film fiza it was sad. it is easy to critcise. this was indeed a good movie but the writer makes it sound the other way around. please select better critics next time.

priyadarshan as usual has given another re-make from malayalam. it seems he is not willing to make an original hindi film which is nto inspired from any other languages. but thank god! atleast this time he has remade his movie only instead of depending on stories of other hit films in malayalam or tamil. don't know when he will make an hindi film in all respects...

Are you here to write about the movie or the director? It does not matter where the director gets the idea from as long as the movie works. What's wrong with you people out there?

Hungama
by Mohit on Aug 01, 2003 06:09 PM

Hungama may not be a classic but is clearly one of the better comedies of recent times which provides wholesome entertainment to the fullest. I dont agree with ronjita thats its very confusing. Afterall, confusion is what hungama is all about...confusion is its main proposition and source of a comedy full of errors. Cant anyone forget the 80s classic 'Angoor', which was a modernday take on Shakespearean 'Comedy of errors'.

Afterall, how many 'real' comedies do we actually produce every year. And they defintely dont include the cliched buffonery or the slapstick which we normally see in abundance in some of David Dhawan's 'cheap' movies. The last 'real' comedy movie which immediately comes to mind is 'Hera Pheri' also fm Priyan.

Hungama undoubtedly comes as a fresh breath amid the summer horror or feel good flicks. Atleast someone is trying to make mature comedies.

Is any film worth watching ?
by Suyash on Aug 01, 2003 05:53 PM

I wonder if any film is worth watching these days. The "Bollywood Movies Review Team" at Rediff certainly doesn't think so. However nice a flick maybe, Rediff never seems to like it. I have read other critical reviews here and have also viewed some of those films and most of them weren't as bad as predicted. Maybe you should adopt a more friendlier attitude towards the poor Bollywood Directors and Actors/Actresses. I expect more down to earth reviews giving the true picture of a certain film.

A completely unsensitive article
by Joginder on Aug 01, 2003 05:39 PM

This is an apt case of a completely unsensitive article. How can you guys say that ya, the movie has some funny moments, good performance and stuff alike. But in the end say that watch it on TV. Why????Havent the Distributers and the Exhibitors paid an exhorbitant amount to bag the rights of the movie. Moreover, you can go ahead and sya the movie is bad or good...but cant certainly comment that whether the person should watch it in a theatre, or a TV premium or a DVD or for this matter even on a pirated VCD. Kindly be sensitive towards all the parties involved in movie making and comment just on the content of the movie (about which you guys are anyways expert at just being malacious in approach towards any flick that hits the marquee). You guys said that Bhoot, Qayamat, Chalte Chalte, Jism, Khwahish etc etc etc are bad. And look at the box office results of all these movies are. Please continue the same approach for the movies to come. Your bad-dua always acts as a blessing in disgiuse for the Bollowood flicks....:-))))

Regards
An avid film lover !!!
