yes the much acclaimed (?) director ( in his own words ) does what he knows best - lifting a story from the southern film and as always from his own mother language. Like all his earlier films this time also he hasn't bothered to give credit to where it is due His first Hindi flick Viraasat was lifted from Tamil,a Kamalhasan starrer written by kamal himself and directed by the acclaimed director Late Bharathan. Thereafter he traversed the same path by copying from malayalam films for Dholi Sajaake rakhna, Hera Pheri, Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar. the only film he did on his own was Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya which turned out to be disaster. The latest being a malayalam film named Cat's Earring (loosely translated ) released in 1985 or so. Down south he lifted Basu Chatterjees films or Bengali and Marathi plays in his earlier days. The man is said to be in the centre of a raging controversy for lifting the story of a malayalam film for his latest Tamil venture "Lesa Lesa" a Madhavan starrer Hope he churns up a hindi version of the samein the near future
Best technical director of malayalam-Priyan has done it again. Superb movie and very good performance by all, especiall paresh. Rediff.com kindly take care of your reviews. Very stupid, idiotic review it was. We can relax seeing the film. We will decide where to see the movie. Rediff has no right to tell to see the film in cable or CD.
After reading Ronjita's review, I was planning to skip watching "Hungama".. But by chance I got an oppertunity.. I am glad to say that it's a wonderful movie..So better Ronjitha should take some lessons before writing reviews...or stop it completely...
the movie is fantastic. The reviewer is the one which should be reviewes by rediff management. If there is a feedback for him I will give him below performer and d-- grade !! This is a very superb movie well directed. This movie does not include double meaning dialogue and cheap comedy of Govinda. Comedy of this film is very great and superb. Reviewer is wrong in saying that in end Priyadarshan forgets about other plots. Seems like he has not seen entire movie. In end all confusion is cleared.
Seems like reviewer was not given free ticket to movie and was also not given pop-corn and pesticide (oops, coca-cola is what I meant ;-)) free during intermission thats why he has given such a poor rating.
What a hopeless review this is? I found the movie to be very funny and light hearted. Though there were many subplots, they were in sync with the story. It was a great comedy movie with funny coincedences and sequences. No wonder movies always does opposite of the rediff review
Well, "Hungama" is real "fungama",if you choose to ignore the logical capers that creep in. But ,it is nevertheless heartening to note that Directors like Priyadarsan are willing to attempt good comedies,as comapred to the trash and tacky laugh-riots that we often witness in Govinda/David Dhawan type of movies.Perofrmances are top notch.Paresh Rawal is as usual superb.Aftab is an under-arted actor, one realises that when one sees the natural and effortless performance he puts in.ALL he needs is a copule of good directors and he will go the Ajay Devgan way.If you want to forget your worries and say damn to logic, see "Hungama"
Im not quite sure as to whats wrong with the lady. But the movie was too good. I was watching at home with my friends and believe me we were laughing from the beginning till the end. It was so hilarious.
