bitter reality
by Sandeep Singh on Jun 09, 2017 01:18 PM

India is now naukri pradhan desh and not krishi pradhan desh and govt is probably giving in to corporate lobby to arrange for creating more economically viable jobs for ever increasing population. As far as farmers are concerned, I think the only long-term solution for them if to float their own separate National political party for sending their genuine representatives to assemblies and parliament

Farmers disillusionmet
by Kuldeep Chandra on Jun 09, 2017 12:22 PM

All farmers are meant for all the Indians and have nothing to be disillusioned by one leader ober other leaders. All leaders have kept them disillusioned and Mr.Modi has so far been the least disillusioning leader.
Many paerty have worked to ruin the economy of the natiion just for votes by making an adhoc waiver of loans.
It is time that all parties should shell out substantila sum not less that 20% from the reserves and funds of the a party and one PM;s Farmers Loan Waiver and Welfare Fund be opened where each citizen and business house may be requested to donate produsely. The donations should be give some income tax relief to the donor. Thre should be some reliable lists of the farmers who need be provided help sucg that they can be dulyb helped without any middlemen. l

ready to pay extra tax to govt to offset loss.
every body claims to be supporting farmers but in practice no one is.
If the farmers demands were to be accepted, the entire economy and banking sector would go for a spin. Are we ready for it???
to give reasonable price, are you as consumers willing to pay higher price for vegetables???
last year 25 paise per litre cess on petrol was fixed to meet latur water crisis, people agitated.

Is the public ready to pay extra tax / cess to offset the huge loss due to proposed waiver of agricultural loans ?If not, then stop shedding crocodile tears.
if you want to help farmers by writing off their loan:
1)be ready and willing to pay extra tax /cess
2) do not cry if the prices of agricultural products / vegetables/cereals is increased

what about the money lying in temples and the loan given to adani/reliance...if these recover timely, no need to impose tax liability on common man.

i do not want to be insensitive but service sector and the manufacturing sectors are the mainstay of economy.
if due to writeoffs the banks start failing, imagine the anarchy in the society.

very biased title!!

Gov is just 3 years old and not 65 years old??
What congress did was kept the nation poor and mainly the farmers by means of loan waiver, free grains and MNREGA and as result across all villages you have a huge shortage of man power because they get a grain for a month at mere 30-40 rupees and the remaining days getting into bad habits. Villagers have become too lethargic!
CPM thinking and Congress thinking aren't different in any way.

There is no question of 3 years and 65 years. After 1967 almost all the states are being ruled by different opposition and the centre was ruled 1977-1980,1989-90, 1996-2004 and now ruled by opposition. Names may be different but ruled persons are politicians from different walks and the same group influenced in the centre too. If you said India was ruled good/bad it is only present days mind set. People who witnessed different rules could compare or differenciate where we are good and where we are bad. Talking & quoting of past glories or failure has no meaning - To day, how you are is the question. If at all to be compared: could be compared last 3 years of previous govt and present 3 years of present incumbent. But India has to plan as to how we going to be after three years from here and should not think about next election- then only growth will be there.
