MADE IN INDIA
by SS Nayak on Nov 03, 2016 03:17 PM

We are buying indigenous (country made)goods where good option is available. In some cases, where good option is not available, we prefer imported items. But we are recently avoiding CHINA made goods as possible.
In fact made in India and make India are separate things. Make in India is call to out side industrialists to manufacture in India. It is good thought but we have to provide platform. The most important thing is that we should not put every thing on MODI Govt. It is our Govt, we should support its good thoughts and oppose wrong thoughts. Regards.

Inspiring Views....A Very Meaningful Observation !
by rishi on Nov 03, 2016 11:43 AM

Thanks to Rediff, an article like this is what is needed to strengthen the path to quality and durability of our own products, at par with our competitors. Industrial production has to grow a thousand fold to make our economy strong enough to provide quality living to a billion-plus population....the nation cannot be treated as an industrial fiefdom of a single monopolistic tata or anyone else anymore.

YES OF COURSE, WILL BUY MADE IN INDIA BUT
by Gadamsetty Srinivasulu Jayakumar on Nov 03, 2016 11:34 AM

NOT ALL PEOPLE WHO BUY THINGS NOT MADE IN INDIA DO SO BECAUSE OF LOVE FOR FOREIGN GOODS. IF A MADE IN INDIA PRODUCT IS NOT AVAILABLE AND EVEN IF AVAILABLE IF THE PRICE IS NOT REASONABLE THE CHOICE WILL NARROW TO A FOREIGN PRODUCE BECAUSE THE WARRANTY TERMS OF THE MADE IN INDIA PRODUCT CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD BY EVEN BY THE MOST EDUCATED PEOPLE. WHEN OUR PM MODI COULD NARROW DOWN ON A BMW FOR SECURITY REASONS EVEN THOUGH THE MAHINDRAS WERE READY TO DESIGN A VEHICLE FOR HIM WHY COULD OTHERS BE WRONG IN BUYING A FOREIGN PRODUCT.

Make in India

It is correct that people will look for some advantage whenever they chose thing. But sad thing is that many thing which we can produce good quality product very easily in India, even some reputed companies, which have good brand in India, are preferring to import the products cheaply from China and just brand their name for marketing. This is not good and should be discouraged. For example, a few years back, I bought Grinder Mixer of Bajaj, which started to give trouble within a year. A few days back, I purchased a new one by ensuring that it is Made in India. It was a combo offer, though the Mixer-Grinder is of made in India, the other things, Toaster and Iron Box, that too was of Bajaj were made in China, which they did not reveal at that time. When such things can be easily produced in India, why the reputed companies prefer for made in China is just for profit. This we all should discourage. In fact, such products of India are more durable than that of China and can easily be produced in India, which will create more jobs for our people. Reputed companies should never outsource their products for increasing their profitability.

by Wilson - fernandes on Nov 03, 2016 11:20 AM

i m a Cable operator. If Modi really wants to promote 'Make in India' then he has to postponed Deadline of DAS coz India is not in a state to manufacture Millions of Set-Top-Boxes. So we have to buy from China.

The so called Per-Capita Income of 1500$ is an anomaly.

The Per-Capita income of Rural India is 400$ that makes 85% of India's population.

The Per-Capita income of Urban workers is more like 1000$.

Yes a Tiny puny proportion of the population (Mainly Traditional Business owners, Software Engineers, MBA's, Chartered Accountants, Doctors make 20,000$ per year or more. But they do not consist more than 0.5% of India's population.
