Great to note that Gujarat has the maximum cleanest stations. Rather than people fighting to gain credit that other state stations are much cleaner, all other states should try to emulate and bring the level of hygiene in their state's railway stations and other places too. Bihar and UP having the dirtiest stations are not surprising, since these stations have the maximum population and awareness programe and strict displined in less implemented in these states.
I t appears the article is not written in true spirt. It dont include all the staons of india.Main coverage is on gujrat and Bihar THAT TOO NOT in corect way.I want to ask whether any state from south included in so called the survey.n such survey is publish by railway.

They should conduct this survey in most populated stations: Delhi (old) stinks, New Delhi Station Stinks, Patna, Mughal Sarai, Moradabad etc. are also in the worst category, but one has to see the footfall in these stations. Relatively Punjabs stations like Ludhiana, Julandhar, Chandigarh etc are better. But Delhi and Old Delhhi stinks. Howrah, Bhubneshwar stations are relative better, taking into account the crowd. I do not know about Mumbai. They have covered T/N (Salem station and Katpadi always used to be clean). But what about Chennai Central? I agree these kind of survey and their publishing does give the actual state of affairs.

What ur saving on advertising money or what...this is not space for advertising
It also represents the politicians from those regions.. One can see the dirty politician from Bihar joining hands with another dirty politician just out of jealousy ..

The maintenance of railway stations are with central Govt. Its success as well as failure is it's job. railway should concentrate more in places where it has failed. States have no role in it.

Dear Mr Dilip...this does represents general attitude of public. Have you ever seen inside condition of coaches before they enter Bihar state(for any other state) and compare it when it leaves Bihar state.. Great transformation...all coaches are full of dirt.. See condition of Garbha Exp, Sabarmati Exp all same.

Mr Dilip, please understand what Mr Nagraj is saying .. It is the people who make things clean or dirty .. Department cleaning or not is a separate issue ...
Railways have organized this national survey to defame Bihar and in the process, gladden Mr Modi's heart. Else, why would the top 10 clean stations list 5 from Gujarat and the worst 10 stations list 5 from Bihar. It is a conspiracy to break the Mahagatbandhan ...

Dear Venkatesh...this is an idiotic and negative thought.. You just cannot see good things happening. This is for pushing the people who keep their public property clean. Pl change your sick mentality

How did Kumbakonam from Tamil Nadu find its place here? Is an alliance with the AIADMK cooking?

@ Sanjay & @ S Mahesh : I thought you guys would have cottoned on to my thought. It was said with total sarcasm, if you do not mind.
It is all about the economic condition of the two states. While Gujarat has hardly a notable percentage of poorest of the poor in their population, Bihar has a large section which is poor. With poverty comes ineducation, lack of aareness on hygeine and even, civic sense. Once the population is well fed, other aspects of life start getting priority. Comparing Gujarat with Bihar or Odisha or Jharkhand, Bihar or UP does not make any sense.

Don't include odisha here aditya.. Check the stations in that station.. it is way and way cleanner than those in UP and bihar .. The state might be poor , but the civic sense is better than the cow belt.
Very heavy penalties must be imposed for those who dirty railway stations. Govt. cannot keep cleaning the whole day. At least a 1000 to 1500 rupee fine must be imposed on the UP walas and Biharis who dirty the nation mostly
The railway station greets people from all parts of the world. The amount of hygeine and cleaniness just SHOWS THE CHARACTER OF THE STATE. In this case, the lowest for BIHAR, CONSISTENTLY.
