It is fantastic to have renewable energy, but what will happen if someone constructs a taller highrise blocking the sunlight to a large extent...which is possible in next 10 years

why not implement on a national scale dr shukla
There are many persons to comment here that there is nothing new in it, as they had done so much earlier. But the question arises then why did they stop it or got stuck up there itself. This so because they did not try to refine and expand it.
one forgets the pollution added during the manufacturing process of solar panels...whatever above mentioned is nothing new..these power generation units are good for remote places for cities its still very expensive affair ..we have done this projects long back for maharashtra state primary health centres.. remote locations where there is no power at all its working very well ..

it will be taken by way of energy payback time and life cycle assessment of the technology. Should think positively till the technology be developed and enabled.
i have already brought my opinion in many journals on my website related the "Solar Power" promoting in many places of the country will bring a source of uplifting scarcity of power for domestic use and also commercial use. My request Modisarkar should give instructions to the states as much as possible to develop Solar Energy to the welfare of the people. My hearty thanks to Mr.Ghosh who takes important move in Solar Energy also supplying information to the people for the creation of solar power.

Thank you very much Sir. As a common individual,I have noticed that the present Govt. is trying their best to push Renewable Energy up to the extent possible. But State Designated Agencies act on the basis of individual State policies, though I also feel at the same time that such important issue need to be addressed uniformly under PANINDIA plan.

Now a days photovoltic cells are used instead of solar cells. photovoltic cells operates even on light. this system stores energy in batteries and thru it this ystem gives power. so cloudy days or nights are no problem

Considering the geographical position of a particular place, Indian Meteorological Datas are analyzed per year including cloudy and sunny days. Total probable generation for a year in Mumbai can be estimated, e.g. for Kolkata for our Plant size, around 45000 - 50000 KWh power is expected to be generated in a year. In our system, no battery back-up is available, and hence no storage to avoid further complexities.

Dear Ghosh, I salute your initiative. How do you manage during power outages in the dark hours without battery back up?

Total cost would be around Rs.5.0 lakhs, shadow free area required would be approx. 575 Sq.ft. May cater to your household electrical load of lighting, cooking gadgets, 1.5 TR AC, 230 Ltr. capacity fridge, 0.5 HP Water Pump etc. You will be eligible for 30% MNRE Subsidy.
First we should congrats Dr, ghosh. Agreed, he has nothing done new. But it is not less that he has inspired people to think like that. secondly,he was able to controll PV costing by avoiding battery bank . Good. Dr. please guide us how to use grid instead of Battery bank. This will be helpful for all of us who are thinking to go for PV.

It is not mentioned any where that battery bank is not used. Without battery bank, it is not possible to get continuous supply when grid fails, especially during dark hours.

Pl. correct the prefix, I am only Mr. at present, pursuing PhD work on green material only. Let me correct the cofusion about Battery bank and Gridtie. Our system is without any battery support, whatever is generated, consumed in house first and excess one is exported via grid. In case of early morning and evening, grid power is put to action. For grid failure (loadshedding) case, DG Set back up arrangement is available. Just by generating power during daytime and consuming/selling the same, the cost would be recovered within next 5.5 years time, rest of its life (further 20 years)the benefit is tremendous.
