in TN all the PUCs are given by state govt facility. it is good that kolkata has introduced a/c bus. the buses are big. it will not be viable to run it profitably in the long run. TN has introduced small buses which are plying during lean period. Pollution is coming down. before this one Prof from Jadabpu Univ set up Solar plant in Sunderban and selling electricity on prepaid card....he is probably forgotten now. while congratulating Prof Ghosh, i request him to take care of his panels from storm. panels should be mounted on a X structure, so that it can be lowerded during storm. my yearmate avijit ghosh is civil engineer...we passed out in 1985 from Jalu.

Dear Sir, Two safety measures have been considered. One with STAADPRO Design of entire structural bracing for high wind load on top of 10 storied building. Second with dedicated robust earthing with Chemical Gel. Your yearmate did his Masters in Energy Sc. & Technology from JU during 2002-2004. Regarding prepaid card arrangement in Sunderban , most probably that plan never materialized.
lets be practical. CCGCRI ,from where this person is , a govt. institution. they have crores of rupees to spend every year so they can do it. anybody plz explain what will be the cost per house for a common man ? and what will be the subsidy on it and where should we apply for subsidy ? thirdly what is the viability ? i mean what is cost per unit ? is it comparable to what we get now ? plz answer my questions sincerely. i am also very fond of it and want to apply it at home.

Right, this article does not cover the commercial aspects. For mass, or at least extensive application, cost / roi are the factors. Since CESC is buying, cost of generation can be taken as lower than that of CESC assuming that it is profitable to the building owners.

Kindly refer MNRE website, where detailed guideline for Household Rooftop project starting from 1KWp up to Megawatt level is available. Moreover, in a Central Govt. organization, availability of fund is not an easy proposition. Economic justification with NPV & IRR calculations are required to justify the proposal. To work under Govt. guidelines require some stringent steps to follow, which are absent for individual cases.
Re: PV panel suppliers?
by Avijit Ghosh on Oct 29, 2014 04:52 PM
There are many reputed Solar Panel Manufacturers in India, namely Vikram Solar, Kolkata, Shova Power, Kolkata, EMVEE Solar, Bangalore, HHV Solar, Bangalore, Altex Solar, Chennai, Tata Solar Power, Jamshedpur, Waree Energies etc. At Pune & Raipur, due to zero tax billing advantage, almost all the panel and Inverter suppliers have Warehouse facilities therein. Lastly, kindly note that I am Mr.Ghosh not Dr.
Hats off to Mr.Avijit Ghosh for your remarkable achievement. This is an austounding answer to the future energy crisis world may face. H N Jayasimha & B J Ujwal, Bangalore

Thank you Sirs for your kind gesture. I have tried to do a little within my official framework with available technology for our next generation.
Excellent execution. May I get the detailed communication address / e mail address of Mr Avijit Ghosh to get more detail about project. I have already written about "Use of Solar Power in Residential Townships of India" in my blog "Innovative Ideas on Power Sector" on 06th Dec'2012. But could not execute the project till date due to lack of opportunity.

At present Govt is mandating that Housing Societies to install solar panels but its usage is not ascertained. Instead it will be a good idea to mandate residential complexes to set up solar farms on their roof and contribute to Grid. The extent of units contributed to grid may be exempted from the electricity bills of Housing Societies.

Dear Mr Shrivastav, I can give you one contact based in Saharanpur UP and nearby districts to execute your project. Er. Aijaz Husain (Mob: 9410468667). E-mail: aijazsre@yahoo.com ; Website: http://www.green-solutions.tk/
Dear Politician learn some thing from Mr. Avijit Ghosh, that he has converted a basic scientific fundamental into reality. My request from GOI is to encourage every citizen to shift dependency from conventional coal energy to solar/ wind energy by providing subsidy and incentive to individual user who save maximum coal energy and use solar energy.

My sincere request to Govt of India is restructure Ministry of Nonconventional Energy. Bring in most honest persons in this.

Boss subsidy is already there. Please install. It's our duty not gov's. I think we Indians want everything for free.

Try claiming subsidy, and have the real taste of Government!!! The subsidized cost is more than unsubsidized cost.
This looks like PAID NEWS. Thousands of Indians across the country are using Solar panels as an alternate energy source. 90% of the installed solar capacity is only to augment existing electricity supply. As a Scientist, he should have invented a solar panel with solar conversion efficiency greater than 35% as is the present maximum case. Just buying off-the-shelf available solar panels and installing it on roof tops does not make news. REDIFF should abstain from bringing such stupid glorifications of existing technologies.

Have you applied this yourself? Encourage persons who are doing something in the interest of our NATION. Please do not criticize only, learn appreciating somebody for his/her good efforts.

It is always better to retell/publicize good things for others to follow. Well done REDIFF.

Boss, may I know what do you do? The best persons are those who criticize themselves and admire other on any minor issues/achievements.

Sir, Mr.Chanakya Maharaj is absolutely correct about technology and its usage in my case, except terming as paid news. I really did not make any new thing, except following a Clean and Green path for daily living, thus reducing the burden on planet , which may be in micro range. The micro range will change with all of ours participation with available technology and Govt. policies in force.
