its good that he has allotted national resources for building of statue of unity instead of saying that the countries resources belonged to muslims .. or else more madarsa jihadis would have born like in Bengal

Secular Jurno...
by jack back on Nov 03, 2014 04:59 PM  | Hide replies

Sekular Jurno is a frustrated Jurno. The writer is missing abundant perks provided by previous govt. for spinning news in their favor. But this govt. does not believe in free bees. Even journalist require to do some work in order to get news.

I hope the writer has studied the details of this project for 'statue of unity'. It is going to be an educational institute with a tourist destination, an investment and not an expense.

So secularism is a bad word in your dictionary. Then I suppose you should be alright if all those NRIs at Madison Square are packed bag and baggage and sent back to India, since they are enjoying the benefits of the so called sekular democracies of the West. And maybe you will also like it if people throw stones at you the next time you visit anywhere where your religion is not a majority.

Brilliant thought to make it a tourist spot
by manthan maiya mantu on Nov 03, 2014 03:21 PM

It is no secret that Modi was thoroughly impressed by statue of liberty in New york. This could well be India's own statue of Unity if executed well and articulated even better. No matter how many times people go to the US east coast they still want to visit the Statue of liberty and Ellis island and rad the history of the first people who came to US. Similarly Statue of Unity could have a museum that would spell out the struggles Patel underwent to unite the state sin India after Independence.

Honoring Leaders and good economics
by vivek mishra on Nov 03, 2014 02:57 PM  | Hide replies

Author has no understanding of economics..For the construction Thousands of labourers will work and get paid..which will run their household...same is true for engineers, accountants...even labourer/ enigineer working in company providing raw material like cement for it. Money is waste when put in swiss banks etc and not when consumed in India

the things you have mentioned can also be utilised in making better infrastructure, roads, bridges etc i think that will be more beneficial to the nation and its people than this statue

First you need to see why the infrastructure is like the way it is. Previous NDA govt. did start work towards it but the two following UPA govt. successfully destroyed it. Why?

The writer of this article is a supporter of those UPA govt. which were also in power before previous NDA govt. of Shree Vajpayeeji.

Excellent logic... then lets build a concrete bridge over indian ocean or Arabian sea to connect to other island/continent as it would be a longest process and all labours involved in that job would get money to feed their family

Expenditure
by SureshKumar CV on Nov 03, 2014 02:23 PM  | Hide replies

The current estimated expenditure comes to just over 20 crores per citizen of India I guess. In case we get all the black money back, it should be used for this purpose

Sir...considering India's population be 130 crores and the estimated expenditure to be 3000 crores (its based on the contract awarded to L&T), please let the people know how much it comes.
