Hope it will not fall off from that height like it happened in Delhi. People will be spending quite a lot of money to die.
Why starting of metro requires the pooja of a particular religion. Is it a religious function? If India is a secular nation why all these thamasha. It shows the bias of the ruling dispensation. It sends a wrong signal.

There is nothing new to these rituals like you are acting . This is not just religious, but part of our tradition since centuries followed by even your forefathers. In all the Democracies in the world go by feelings of majority and there is nothing Un-Secular for you to be complaining until it is not troubling you. FYI these are performed wherever Secular Congress is ruling also.

This is Democracy and majority rules. How can someone appease oneself? Doing Puja is not majority appeasement. But not doing will be minority appeasement.

In a true "republic" there is a separation of religion and state enshrined in the constitution (similar to the US). So this is indeed incorrect no matter what you call it, tradition, culture etc.

India is a hindu country so the seculars and the minorities can go and suck their thumbs to the fact.

not scratching, spitting and damaging the metro property is real worship of all people irrespective of religion.

Guys need to understand what is secularism. Being secular doesn't mean you run away from your practices or don't follow your religion in public. Real meaning for secularism will be only if you don't distinguish on decision making based on religion. So, if someone had prevented any other religion to perform a ritual when requested, then it is being non-secular. Hope this is being understood by everyone. Again to summarize, performing a religious ritual will not make someone non-secular but making a decision on voting based on caste/religion will make it secular.
Evnthough 7km is nt a long distance, after 6.30-7pm, autowala use to charge 100/150 rupees 3 yrs back to travel from MG road to indiranagar. They had that much audacity to ask these kind of money and use to blatantly say no if you say below their rate..Hope this will put an end to thir dream run, spend 2.5 yrs in Blr between 2004-2008 and it was a nightmarish experience, i use to avoid using my car at night since im not too comfortable in driving at night because of sepcs and thus has been harrassed by these autowala's so many times, had to pay these amounts for a short distance.

having alternate modes of transport is the only way to kill monopoly which results in exploitation of commuters.

Kolkatta still in living with remaining for British.. next 50 years also they will live like that. Development is not a miracle happening in the part of world, it is basically out come of people's mindset over the part of the country.By seeing a city u can estimate the people of the Area/state..

There is no comparison between Kolkata and Bangalore. Kolkata is the metro which has still retained its heart. Bangalore lost it long ago. I have been regularly visiting both the cities since long. I see a steady deterioration in Bangalore over this time whereas Kolkata has by and large remained the same. Yes, Kolkata has got its share of traffic jams, flyovers and malls but it is still more livable than Bangalore.

See me off from where? I'm lucky enough not to be living in Bangalore. I just happen to visit Bangalore frequently for work. I am one of those few fortunate who get to spend a lifetime in Pune.
