Needs modernisation
by Nagaraja on Oct 16, 2011 08:46 AM  | Hide replies

A station built to connect Mysore, Miraj by metre gauge and Madras by broad gauge, also linking KGF with narrow gauge. It was unique with thre gauges in one station. As Bengaluru acquired International city status his station needs modernisation particularly there are no lifts conneting all platforms. If Mysore trains are received at extreme western platform it is possible to link all platforms by land just like Chennai railway station. At least underground connection with lift facility in all platforms can be initiated.

india must focus on improving these
a. removal of rubbish from all streets ALL OVER the city!-THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT!
b. improving central city areas of all cities
c. railway stations
d. bus stations

country doing well in some things like
-eradication of polio
-anti-smoking drive is successful
-lowest mobile rate in world
- 200 tv channels on dish tv at rs 300 (not available in most advanced countries even)

so no reason we cannot achieve the top list

Where do you visit in south India? Come to Andhra Pradesh. Especially to Hyderabad. You can see lot of beggars at traffic signals, temples etc., Poverty has been increasing drastically in Andhra Pradesh. This is because people's money is with all AP Politicians.

1. The busiest railway station in India is Howrah, with an average of more than 600 trains running and 1 million passengers per day.

2. Southern Railways is a Zone and not a division.

Not impressive...

Let us be honest.. Bangalore, Coimbatore and Secunderabad station buildings dont look impressive in any way... Also Coimbatore may not really be the second busiest station in TN. I would rather think Salem Junction in TN is where most trains criss-cross after Chennai as far as TN stations go... So that would have major passenger traffic and the station building at Salem is also a old British structure that looks more impressive than the CBE station building...

You are right!! Coimbatore is not at all impressive. It is like an in house drainage. But the other major station in TN is Madurai station. It is the station that connects the all other parts of TN to the important districts of deep south TN and central TN.

the station staff
by rajiv shrivastwa on Oct 15, 2011 10:25 PM

the station t.t.e is very kind to rich people if you r caught without ticket & if you r rich then u r let to go. but if you r a poor or middle class family then you r gone for a good. more then 500 plus fine. they make money sitting under ac and a poor person has to earn money with a great hard work and if supose by chance you r caught without ticket then the full money is of the sitting person in a.c.
if you want to go in train either you should be a minister realtive or otherwise tata or birla aur reliance son or daugter.
railways is not for poor.
railway had fixed the journey fare from this much area to this much area this much money. but the station fello r charging double the money. and you cant complain also because all r wash hand in same money. if you complaint then you r gone for a good. they will give you to police undera fake case this happening in a station inn gujart western railways.
