Of these stations mentioned here, only the pre independence stations has some sort of architecural beauty. I really like CST,Mumbai which is a piece of good architecture.

If you wish, I can send you an old Film camera of mine, which I no longer use. You can go around with that in the general/ordinary compartments of various trains in India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and from Mumbai to Kolkatta. As the crowds will be horrifying, you will get a lot of opportunity to spend time in the stinking toilets, enabling you to click some fantastic photos of clean and " UNCLEAN " toilets. Maybe, rediff will publish them, quoting " Courtesy - Catdesigns "
Coimbatore station looks like a shopping mall, Vashi some corporate office and Secunderabad a cinema theater. Is this the kind of architecture we are capable of? Why not something patently Indian and classical? Just look at some of the railway stations in Thailand for instance, if our architects are not inspired enough!

They say we are one among the fastest delevoping nations ?But where actually is the development ? Due to my Job role i had to visit many countries but sorry to say even we cannot meet the standards like some of the small countries like Taiwan,Malaysia,Thailand ,,etc can only match with those African countires .
In TN, Madurai station has been awarded The best kept station in the south numerous times. With almost 12-14 trains from Chennai each day, it is next busiest station after TN.

I agree. The best part of the station, is u dont have to go around looking for the rest room. You can just relieve yourself wherever u feel like.....
