Oil companies
by anand Swaminathan on May 23, 2011 02:03 PM

Remove the tax and duty components from the net price. The Petrol and Disel in India will be around Rs.25 and Rs.30 respectively. As a special drive to mop-up these losses, please charge 50% tax on all IPL Matches, owners, players etc., The government definitely should have surplus amount after funding the oil companies.

For the last 10 years, our people have been badly affected by the inflation. Hope the above situation will improve once this suggestion is implemented.

Finally for the next 10-20 years these Oil companies should not sponsor for any Cricket match and not to advertise their products in any channels. Neither Cinema Artiste nor Cricket players should be asked to endorse their product lines.

Petrolium Price hike
by shreeram godbole on May 23, 2011 02:02 PM

It can be a matter of debit whether the prices of Petrol/Diesel/LPG & kerosene should be increased when the prices of crude increases.

However, there has to be transferancy in the calculations. Crude is a raw material (RM) for the petrolium products. When prices of crude increases, the RM cost only to be reimbursed to the oil companies. In fact the production cost also need to be checked, because, as the (Consumption)production increases the cost of production has to come down due to volume increase. When the prices are administered by the Govt. it should justify the increase by giving these details.
Taxes shold be levied on per unit of fuel instead of saling price, because, as it is the taxes are as high as 100% of the cost.
More over when the Govt. is minting money by way of taxes, why they canot improve the public transport? Where the huge amounts paid by the common man by way of taxes goes. There is toll tax charged on all the "so called" highways irrespective whether the road condition is worth calling it the "high way". Probably the UPA has reliased that they may not get ellected for the next term so they are looting the public as much as they can. the whole thing is really embarrassing.Let the God save the indian citiziens from the Politicians who are not differant than the earlier "Pendharies".

Diesel prices
by subhash bhargava on May 23, 2011 02:01 PM

OUR Govt has created the mess in pricing petro products. In long term it is good for poor people if Govt gives freedom to petro products companis to link with international price of crude. Subsidy in products which are consume by rich/middle class ,will mean that ultimately this subsidy will be paid by all including poors as ultimately Govt will recover this subsidy by taxes/borrowing at market rate. If it is not done Growth will suffer which again will mean tha poor will remain poor. Thanks to our vote bank politics where only poor /illitrates vote to remain poor for ever. For God sake stop blaming poor Sharad Pawar for every mess

Subsidy needs to be removed
by Indian Guru on May 23, 2011 01:59 PM

Subsidy needs to be removed on Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and LPG..How long are we going to bear the loot of money based on subsidies.

Government dosen't want to remove subsidies because it wants to tax heavily on fuel and fuel related products.

At one end it says it is offering subsidies to Indian consumers and other end its charging taxes to a tune of 35-90% inclusive of the states quota.

Please remove subsidies and treat fuel similar to other essential commodities and do not levy more than 16% tax as in case of most goods.

Also please increase the power generation with Nuclear programs and get to have electricity as alternative source of energy for cooking and transport.

nrmgrm will be the Next Efficient Finance minister after P. Chidambaram.nrmgrm has original ideas.

So if Diesel,LPG prices are increasing, India must get ready for another sensational issue to be created by think tank of our beloved Congress to divert the attention.

These price raises do not worry the aam aadmi.
If not, why would these people keep re electing congress again and again.

All the aam aadmi needs is skin show from the B town hotties and cricket on the telly. Both of these are in abundant supply. Life is great.

I wonder why the CONG or any other party should make the Oil co's bear the burden of your oil bill. If the oil prices world wide are up 70% from YoY then it is time we as indians learnt to pay for the downsides of an cartel. When we are paid huge salaries by MNC's people hail the opening up of our economy but when they have to spend 4-5 rs more per litre (5000 - 6000 per annum) on petrol there is a huge outcry and immediately chaddi's (bjp) blame the Congress as if the cong is hiking the crude oil prices in the international market.

There should b no subsidy on LPG, Kerosene and Diesel. After all common man has no right to live in this country. Only powerful and mighty should live in this country. If you want to live in India, use bicycle for transportation & wood for cooking food. I am already planning to purchase a bicycle for me. !!!

Seriously, all political clouts and bureaucrats are eating up so called common man inside out ... it will soon became Zimbabwe. No value for money cause all corrupt politicians will be ready to spend 1000 for the item worth of 1 Rs, thereby forcing the common man also to pay up the same ... I am seeing right way everyday they doing it infront of eyes, I curse them for degrading the living hood of common people.
