This Govt is only putting more burden on common man's back. The Govt. has never compared the common man's income with the rising prices and doing nothing to rectify the difference.

Let the ministers / politicians live with Govt. notified minimum wages of commom man to understand amm admi's struggle.

Govt must restrict production of diesel cars, luxury vehicles. Also they should maintain day book for vehicle movement for politicians. Awareness has to be created among drivers for diesel consumption.

If you want to be insulated from LPG/Petro/ Diesel prices, pls come and settle in Tamil Nadu. We are known for freebies and next in the list wil be 100 litres of petrol, 250 litres of Diesel and 2 Cylinders free of cost for all people living in Tamil Nadu, irrespective of Income/ wealth status. If anyone want more than that quota, he will have to pay notional Rs 1 per Cylinder/ litrer of petrol or diesel..ALL ARE WELCOME

No real loss
by SANKET P on May 23, 2011 05:29 PM

The oil companies which have so many share holders all over the country cannot run in losses for years. Or for that even the local baniya or an NGO cannot operate if there is no money coming. Its a royal BS given bye the govt that they are in loss. Sadly the aam admi has to go to work everyday and needs the fuel so can not do much other than say expressing his discontent. We elected this govt again even after corruption and other nonsense happening earlier. Now we pay for it.

why oil ministry even clearly mention each and every tax , duty and other charges which levy on petrol, why Mr. Murli Deora says in press conference that we have no option, and hides the actual taxes, duties and charges which govt. earns on every ltr of petrol. Govt and ministers never discuss the taxes on petrol. In press conference they are supported by their own journalists. who never ask question on taxes.
A force of journalist like BARKHA DUTT work for govt. (here no matter which party is in power) to get heavy benefit.

Pricing of petroleum products
by swami pudipeddi on May 23, 2011 04:31 PM

Expert Analysts of these prices are telling that the loss shown on these items by the petroleum companies is notional and they are mainly due to the high duties on importing crude for these products and the same is applied while pricing the domestic production of these items. Therefore, if the Govt. truly wants to reduce the prices of all other commodities and curb inflation even to a certain extent an appropriate fixing of prices of these is necessary. The Govt. should show it in deed rather than making speeches and celebrating the anniversary after anniversary while the real fact is some thing else. The Congress party in its election speeches during 2004 accused NDA of the price rise through roof tops and could cobble a Govt. with the support of left parties which did not protest the price rise of petroleum products although the Govt. could not have survived if it withdrew its support. subsequently it again won elections and raised the prices and during UPA II scams after scams are being unearthed and those who mattered more are Govt.guests in Tihar Jail. The inflation is upping day by day and the life of common man is effected daily with the increase of the prices of all commodities. Showing price rise of petroleum products every one is increasing the prices many more times. If Govt. wants welfare of the people it should cut down the import duties and the States should reduce the ST component in order to stabilise prices at one level at least till next elections.

If Congress government is keen on removing subsidy for petrol, diesel and lpg, then why you want to distribute free funds through NREGA, waiving farm loans and interests, why any social agenda at all. Robbing peter to pay paul. It is high time this congress government is bid goodbye for another 20 years.
