Nothing really. All development plans are made by marathis and southies. So rest of the nation gets nothing.

I agree. The expansion should be eastward and a highway and railway corridor must be made linking Rajasthan in the west to Myanmar in the east on way to Thailand. South India is useless. North India must look towards West (Middle East), North (China, Central Asia) and East Asia (Malaysia, Thailand,...) for further economic cooperation. South and Maharashtra have given us 2G scam and Sharad Pawar.

If it was not for the northies, gujaratis and the good old business men from Udupi, Mumbai would only have marathi workers with no jobs.and yes not to forget the inevitable scams

by arungopal agarwal on May 23, 2011 10:20 AM

Very good visionery decision, but what about population contorl, when national policy for that will be finalised-long need of hour, why all political parties are afraid of it, why not they all unite and make constitutional requirement.

This is only way to make better india.
by bihari babu on May 23, 2011 10:15 AM

Our city were built totally unplanned. you will have to demolish half of the buildings to make them better. which you cant do in crazy democracy and ego maniace society like our's.
so only way is move out. start a fresh. plan whole city with enough space. then let people come there start living and working.
anyway india's population is so huge. even 500 city like this wont be enough. but definetly they will act like model city and other town can copy the idea.

Look into ourselves
by Arun on May 23, 2011 09:12 AM  | Hide replies

For all the morons blowing their tops about immigration, lol, it is about people moving... not immigrating. So, already we divided India into pieces isnt it?
Rule 1: Stop speaking Hindi. It is neither a national language, nor to be used by regional fanatics. Why do you use it then?
Rule 2: Our "National" list.
National Animal - Tiger - No where to be seen anymore. Will be extinct in couple of years.
National Game - Hockey - Is in pathetic state now. Cricket is hailed the best even after knowing that it is a fool's game and meant for lazy bugs.
National Emblem - Found only in Govt. documents, assets - No one in this generation or future would know what is it about.
National flag - People look at it as a holiday creator. When ever it is hoisted, it is a holiday and fav programs in TV that we can sit and watch.
National Bird - Does anyone know what it is?
Even if you type "India National..." it lists the holidays on the list first.

And we talk about patriotism?
First we need to clean this country politically. Like someone said, we chased Brits out of our country and got a freedom. Now we need another struggle to get free from the politicians. But before that, we need to clean up our backs first.

Next gen for what?
by Arun on May 23, 2011 08:58 AM

Next gen cities for the next gen politicians to loot the country on the name of development? Somehow, I feel that the Brits did a great job with our infrastructure than any of our goondas did in last 63 years. The major portion of rail network and roads were built by them. I feel bad when ever I get a chance to see Hongkong. We blame brits for everything but then, the country that got its freedom in 1990's is now a global hotspot. How?and Why?

What about the old cities and filthy metros
by Rajendra Gupta on May 23, 2011 02:35 AM  | Hide replies

These corrupt guys have found another way to loot the country like it was done in CWG.A 20000 crores is insuffcient amount for setting up new 6 cities of latest technology. These jokers should first set right existing and stinking metros and cities. Why they are not upgrading villages where even today schools are not there or teachers are not there.Drinking weater is not there.MM singh is bitten by american glamor and he always does supeficial things to show glitter .That is the reason india is recording 300% inflation since he became PM.It is time to dismiss him and his corrupt government.People should get out of this american mania set loose by media and Singh.India needs to improve existing cities which are hundreds in number. There are several cities in Delhi mumbai route that are in pathetic condition.

How about we ask each state to fix its cities to benefit the states OWN residents and curb migrants?

Consider a state plans for a city to grow by 1 lakh in say 3 years and 2 lakh migrants from UP/Bihar show up? Where does the state get the water to give them? The migrants don't bring the Ganges with them... they just arrive.

You are the stick of the nation people like, What is wrong with people from UP and Bihar they the right to be anywhere in the country like you and I have. We are all citizens of India and that means i have the right to live anywhere in the country.

They are not from Pakistan or Bangladesh coming in illegally

First talking about immigrants from Bihar,UP. I think they should be sent back to their states and give them equal opportunity to work for their own states and their own fates. All the maids and servants working in Delhi,Mumbai,Kolkata, pune, bangalore should be sent out and let the people living in city give a chance to do their won work like cooking, washing, cleaning and driving, household jobs.We need to make everyone independent of others in term of job and work.

So bring your Ganges with you when you migrate.... we have no more water for you. Or better still ask the "constitution" for the water. Maybe that piece of paper can generate water...

What is wrong with people from UP and Bihar is that they don't need any infrastructure, homes, etc. to live. They come and stay even in gutters and nallas without any hygienic life. That is the problem with them which also creates problems for well maintained local people that you won't understand being a UP/BIhari.

The fact is that the migrants are the ones who shape up any city's future. Take any world class city. You should see them to know them.

If you cant allow migrants, why import their goods and sell your produces outside?

If they are taking your hard physical labour for cheaper rates, it means that you are a lazy goose and gotto wear your shoes and speedup... not relazing under the sun doing nothing.

If they want to live in a gutter and charge less money because the gutter is better than their home state does not mean the local residents are lazy. It is a simple point but the gutter lovers don't understand it.

Hindi speaking sure has not helped UP/Bihar - two states that the locals are desperate to get out off..... UP/Biharis these days are even slinking off to Chennai ready to learn and speak Tamil because anything is preferable to UP/Bihar. Of course in comparison Chennai is heaven.

So not speaking Hindi has helped Chennai. Would you live in Chennai or Patna/Lucknow?

Wonderful news !!
by Naresh Sharma on May 22, 2011 03:23 PM

politicians will make billions of rupees by seeping in the scams. Why satelite cities along this line. This area is well developed and well connected. Its just another mode of earning by property dealing. The govt. is not thinking of farmers, who take care of environment by their agriculture. If u cant develop the existing one who believes that u will in future.

Well I agree with your other post that we need to fix our metros and like you say yes we don't have the land but we cannot stop the migration and should not reason being is there are cities like Tokyo which is clean and works well we just need to teach civics to people and personal hygiene and not every country started off being clean the more toilets you build the better things will become.

Have you ever thought about the fact that more people concentrating in cities will also mean that there is a good chance the forests and jungles will get to flourish and when it rains water wont just run to the sea rather sink into the ground?
