by Rajendra Vaidya on May 16, 2011 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE IMPROVE THE METRO-RAILWAY PROJECT WITHFULL-PROOF SYSTEM HENCE THE LOCAL TRANSPORTATION OF TWO-FOUR WHEELERS DROP DOWN TO 80% IN ALL METRO-CITY. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP THE CORRUPTION. THE INTERCITY TRANSPORTATION OF RAILWAY NETWORK NEED TO BE IMPROVE BY 400%. THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA IS FAIL TO DO THE IMPORTANT NEED OF INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE NATION/PEOPLES IN-SPITE OF THAT THEY ARE VERY MUCH CONCERN TO DO THE CORRUPTION BY ANY MEDIA/LEVEL. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP THE NONSENCE TAXES & PENSIONER FUNDS, NONSENCE ELECTION EXPENCES. THE UTILIZESION OF PROPER FUNDS BY INDIAN GOVERNMENT IS EQUIVALENT TO BRITISH GOVERNMENT BEFORE INDEPENDANCE OF INDIA.

Reduce tax and declare tax free from all custom, Excise and local levy and withdraw all the subsidy side, subsidy for deserving people only. Indian Govt will more earn to from Indirect tax to give healthy atmosphere for industry. UPA govt need to be out from govt. immediately because they not think from last in view of states election, why not increase on right time who will answer? , I don' remember any needy work done for common man instead of horrible “scam” overall one more slap to vote and stay with “OPEN HAND”

Petrolium Product Price Rise
by ARUN LELE on May 16, 2011 07:07 PM  | Hide replies

One can understand the logic that if the per barrel price is raised in the internatinal market from $90 to $130 ; proportional rise in the local market of oil can rise. But once the basic crude price is raised why proportionate increase is allowed on Govt. duties and state taxes, local levies ? What logic is applied in the taxes rise with the interntional crude price hike ? Why the old tax, leveies level is not kept constant. Let the price rise be affected only by the extent of increase in the international per barrel price of crude oil.
In the name of international price rise the Govt. is looting the consumers.
The fact is 60-70 % consumption of oil products is by the govt. agencies ( Defence,PSUs,Govt.depts.Railways , etc. ) and only 30-40 % is by the aam admi. That means the major burden is shared by the less qty. consumers. ( Because , the govt. expences are ultimately shared by the tax payers only. )

People must unite to stop this day light robbery by the Govt. agencies.

Absolutely. Govt should fix a tax per barrel or litre of crude/petrol. Say Rs 10 per litre inclusive of central, state and local taxes. Then even if price of crude goes up, the impact on common man should only be to the extent of basic crude oil price rise.

Currently even taxes are increasing whenever crude price increases.

Don't use cars, use public transport.

Can't help it, its the govt. who decides. ATF (fuel for airplanes) is now at Rs.60 in Mumbai whereas for cars its at Rs.69!

Best option is to reduce usage big time. The govt. wants the cash into the system as they want to reduce the fiscal deficit and for a fact they know that the middle class people have loads of cash stashed in their booties.

by sanjay mehta on May 16, 2011 07:06 PM

due to hike in prices of petrol it effects mostly the poor people of community and because of it poor becomes more poor.the riches are not much affected but to support the poor the government should come out with a policy that odd no private vehicles should be used on odd days and even no vehicle should be used on even days ,thus save the petrol consumption and control the trafic situation ,as because of future trading in crude in international market prices are fluctuating the government should go with a policy of procurement twice in a year and rates are fixed for minimum six months, thirdly we have to find alternate uses of petrol and diesel vehicles as the government should give encouragement to people who have found that a car or a sccter engine can be worked on air comprssor ie without using petrol and diesel.

It is stupidity of UPA Govt. They are virtully bringing some of the middle class people to below poverty line. Why to increase politicians salary and perks when they have black money in crores of Rupees. Why can't the Govt. reduce the admin costs and control the prices instead of rising the cost of petrol every now and then. This Govt. has come the level of their incompetency and now this is the high time for a change of Govt.
