MM Singh should release white paper on fuels
by Rajendra Gupta on May 16, 2011 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

The UPA should release a details white paper on variuous cost components at every stage for producing petrol, diesl and kerosen and LPG.
Hpow mcuh is theft and corruption in it.What are taxes in it.India is having on epof higest taxes in world onm fuels. The actual coist of pertrol is hardly rs 24/litre.
Cride prices have already started sofetning. When India does not have fuel why this fradulent expert started auto boom in insia instead of rapid mass public transpirt system.

That is because of middlemen, not farmers. Farmers barely get 30% of what you are paying in the shop.

Stop writing nonsense. Firstly, it is the city people who are pampered. Don't eat Domino's pizza for Rs 300 every week and you will save enough for petrol. Or start going by bus/train and start car-pooling.

Secondly, farmers are the only section of society that commits suicide due to being in financial loss. I have never heard of salaried employee commiting suicide because he cannot manage to feed his family.

Thirdly if farming was so lucrative, then why would everyone migrate from villages to the city? Despite getting only Rs 7000-8000 per month doing menial jobs, they feel it is better than farming. Why?

Finally, if you reduce subsidies for farmers, even the prices you are paying for basic food will double. Then you pampered city freaks driving 5-6lakh cars will start crying more.

So think before you write. If you think farming is lucrative, give up your job and make money farming. Then talk to me.

Statistics show that nearly 50% of new cars sold are diesel including luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, Skoda, etc.

These rich crore-patis are buying diesel cars to avail the subsidy on diesel which is meant for the goods and mass passenger transportation sector. Cheap rascals.

The solution is to impose minimum 1 lakh rupees sales tax on diesel cars, minivans and SUVs. For merc, bmw, skoda cars the tax should be 3-5 lakhs.

This will prevent the subsidy from going to rich people.

Simultaneously, govt should start raising diesel prices by 1 rupee every 3 months and once it is close to petrol prices, the govt should go for market linked rates.

Then petrol and diesel will cost nearly the same and there won't be any reason to buy diesel cars.

Let the rich pay market rates for fuel.

Similarly even kerosene prices should be raised by 1 rupee and gas cylinder price by 25 rupees every 6 months.

Reduce the tax by the amount of additional revenue obtained so that the price rise is limited.

We need to start conserving fuel and work towards developing alternate energy sources.

Price of crude oil is not going to come down due to massive consumption from China and India. There is not enough crude oil in the planet that can be cheaply extracted anymore.

Petrol price
by venkataramani mani on May 16, 2011 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

steep increase in petrol price will not be complemented by increase in employee salary as such very few companies have a variable component in conveyance or basic sal whenevr this happens employees have to bear the brunt again without any corresponding change.

The day this person has taken over a spuppet PM of India, he is only doing one thing .Prcie rise, taxation and manipulations. He and his cabinet must resign or be thrown out.No other solution as it is rampant corruption and siphoning off of public money. He is operating under directions of a mafia. Sicne there is no logic in what is goong o0n in India since last 8 years there is hardly any discussions needed.Government must change now.I would be happy if Singh,Mukhgerjee, Ahluwalia,Rangarajan etc are prosecuted for treason. These harsh words are needed now.

Reward from Congress
by Venkat Narasimhan on May 16, 2011 06:56 PM  | Hide replies

We elected them (Congress) to rule and protect us and to make our country strong but they really have shown their reality in the past 10 months. In the past nine months, they have hiked up the oil prices eight times, now for the ninth time. They have waited for the election results and now they have given a "shock treatment" for the beloved voters.
MPs salaries were increased by 200% but still they have not yet satisfied. Now MPs are getting 50 Lakhs (annually that means they are getting 4,16,666/- per month) for 5-year period also they will get at least 25 Lakhs (annually) if they are no longer elected representatives.
MLAs are getting 25 Lakhs (annually that means they are getting 2,08,333/- per month) and they will get at least 12 Lakhs (annually) if they are no longer elected representatives.
So they have no worries about this hike. Government will take care of them. Only worrying persons are the general public (middle class) who elected and send them to Parliament or assembly, after getting their position they simply striking us with a strong hammer.
So, DEAR PUBLIC we have to teach this Congress-led government a lesson and show the power of public at the time of election and should let them (Congress) down in the coming Lok Sabha election.
