AT LOSS?
by guru on May 21, 2011 05:21 PM

This Govt. thinks people are folls. Govt. claims that they are still at loss at even present price of petrol & diesel. How it can be when one pays taxes as high as Rs. 27/= PER LITER. It is the shear in effeciency of the Govt. for not controlling the price.

levy higher income tax (as cess) to those earning above 8 Lakh p. a. (for a family of three, can be adjusted for larger families and total family income etc.) and cross subsidize.

Whom you consider as a common men? Just stand on the cross roads of the cities like chennai, pune, delhi, ahmedabad , baroda, hydrabad, benglore, nagpur etc. You will find waves of two wheelers on which common men rides to go to their offices in time struggling to feed their families. it has become necessasity for them to ride two whellers because of POOR infrastrcture/transport facility provided by inefficient Govt. & those two wheellers are running by petrol for your information.

How are you saying common man does not use petrol? Are you a common man to say that? If petrol price increases, everything else increases from food, transport to education. Common man alteast uses food.

when BJP increased the prices of petrol by 1/- and thrice by .50 ps, the then opposition went tom-toming about inflation.,which is today governing and few people of the same looting entire masses. Is it not time that people seriously think when they were able to fly without burdens in no-frill air lines, when the mass media aired 50-100 channels, when the internet was privatised for better competition, when the automobiles and electronics became cheap, when foreign universities were planning to spread their wings in INDIA, that my dear friends was under Mr. Vajpayee, the only primeminister who worked for the masses. Hope we get one such person back in the government.

Petrol is not luxury Govt. Remove all the taxes for the petrol. Let the people use petrol free of cost. Surely petrol will be available at RS.30-35.

and then the vehicles will multiply on teh road 300 times, causing more pollution and more traffic jams. Keep teh prices at actual prices but improve the public transportation system.

MORE FISCAL & MONETARY TIGHTNING REQUIRED UPTO THE 2
by udayraj on May 17, 2011 08:29 PM

Do you going to vote BJP & alliance. That will be more nonsense. Who are going to rule us a grand question mark. Both of these two alliances UPA and NDA are greatest ever cowards.

For the sake of Indians necessity is that fiscal & monetary tightning is necessary & upto the level of JAPAN OR EURO ZONE ECONOMIES.
But what we are seeing is the rat race for the richest economy in the world because higher the inflation higher will be the growth rate & we are chasing CHINA for that. Actually our absolute GDP growth is negative by subtracting inflation of 8% from 7.75% economy growth rate.

PROFITIARING BY GOVERNMENT IS
NOTHING BUT POOR COMMON MAN.
INDIA IS CURRENTLY IN THIS STAGE.
ALSO INDIA IS MAKING HAPPY THE
GOVERNMENT & SEMI GOVT EMPLOYEE
SECTION WHICH IS ULTIMATELY INCREASING THE EXPENDITURE OF GOVERNMENT BUT IT IS NOT INCREASING SAVINGS RATE BECAUSE OF HIGHER INFLATION.

LOT OF THINGS TO TALK AND BEING BRING INTO ACTION BUT THAT SHOULD REQUIRE THE STRONG DESIRE OF GOVERNMENT. ALSO, BLACK MONEY SHOULD HAVE TO COME INTO AS WHITE WHICH WILL RESOLVE LOT OF PROBLEMS OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY NAMED INDIA.

Lets stop buying petrol for a week, minimise the use of personal vehicle in this period, use public transport more, plan your schedule accordingly that we are not forced to go for Taxi/Rick in this period(unless deparately required), the govt & Oil compnies will feel the heat of this low demand and in turn low sale, this loss will hurt them the more, then the prices they impose on the citizens - Ramesh N K

Encourage alternate modes of transport/ fuel
by kskumar on May 17, 2011 08:10 PM

1. To begin with, people can start a car pool. This is common in the West. A group of people join together and pool their cars so that one person uses his car one day to drop off others. The people take turns to use their cars. This way, considerable fuel is saved.

2. Encourage the use of electric cars / bikes to commute. Recharging facility for such vehicles can be provided at offices and at home. Other alternate fuels like plant oils can be encouraged along with CNG.

3. For commuting short distances people can walk / cycle.
