FUEL COMPANY BOARD SHOULD RESIGN
by Subramaniam Sudhakar on May 16, 2011 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

If the CMD and Directors of petrol companies cannot bring down the consumer price of petro, diesel and LPG, these idiots should resign or publish a white paper on the cost of purchase of crude, conversion cost, duties and sales tax paid, and profit margin.
We the people of India will rise against this price rise and bring down the downfall of the ruling government.
We will vote for govt which says that they bring down the prices of fuel and lpg by 40% and any one who has been elected twice to the state or Central assembly, should not be permitted to contest in the national/ state elections.

We the people of India will demand both. Our votes in the next general elections is for only to that Party which will implement both of the above.

Trust other fellow Indians agree with me.

The hike is so much burdening
by Kabadan Y on May 16, 2011 12:41 PM

The hike in petrol products is just unbearable to say the least. With the state taxes, the cost of commuting is hitting below the belt of hard working people whose income is already dwindling due to price rise of other commodities. The state govt taxes add to the burden and I think it is time to seriously bring out in trials the alternative technologies like liquid hydrogen etc.. That oil is not going to be cheaper anymore is very clearly the writing on the wall. This govt or any other govt of the day will have no option but to increase the price in line with the international prices. Unfortunately in India the petrol buyers have to subsidize a lot of things that the state wants to give it free of cost or cheaper than the cost adds to the mess of price hike already. The govt must be transparent in its petrol pricing strategy.

Why discount Industrial fuels?
by Rohit on May 16, 2011 12:35 PM  | Hide replies

All other Petro products like Furnace oil, Light Diesel Oil, Bitumen etc are sold at discounts in the Bulk Consumer markets and the common man gets a hike in his fuel prices. Shouldnt the Oil Marketing Companies recover the LOSSES(?) from these products? Also what about the increase in vehicles consuming the fuel? That has also increased since the last time some stupid Taxes were implemented? Chori karna koi Govt se sikhe..

Also oil companies say they are losing money. If every oil PSU employee gets over 14 lakh per annum as salary while oing absolutely nothing, they are definitely going to lose money.Their salaries should be brought back to more realistic level.

Cheaper planes and costlier taxis
by sailor on May 16, 2011 12:29 PM

Yes, it has been the policy of the UPA to dole out prime air routes to the private airlines, subsidise their fuel at the cost of the tax payer's money, and now make it costlier for the common man the cost of fuel. That is the motto Congress ke Haath, Amm Admi Ke Peetpar Joor ke Saath; Congress Ke Haath, Mehnghai Ke Saath.
