Politicians

Bureacracy is corrupt in India at least from British time, politicians have nexus with these bureacrats for minting money, why they should solve the corruption issue. Only public can teach them a lesson, else they are confidently ruling over the country and have become masters instead of servants.

Politics & Corruption
by SANKAR RAMAN on May 05, 2011 10:25 AM

Politics & Corruption they somehow go together and how can we expect Politicians to either avoid it or take shelter behind it. As Brenard Shaw said Politics is the last resort of scoundrels and the above lot forming a part of it and we can expect the most idotic consequences -earnings through corruption! Let us see how those involved in @G Scam receive the scath of the Supreme Court. We will be the Happiest if the Supreme Court make those involved at least become Paupers and wander the streets like beggers. May God be Good and make them the same"Beggers". Then only they will know how difficult to earn nowadays in a Honest Fashion!!!

Politicians & Corruptions

Can we expect a corrupt to cleanse the entire system of corruptions? If that happens, how will the corrupt will survive on government salary? What about sweet equity, malls, real estate, latest electronic gadgets?

Our democracy is deeply submerged into a corrupt system which is hardly accountable to anyone even the judiciary is corrupt. What will a common man will do? Where will he go?

Root cause of corruption ?
by Mind Releams on May 05, 2011 06:24 AM  | Hide replies

Yes there is corruption in this country but have you people ever tried to figure out why?
I think the main cause of corruption in this country (and from which almost all other form of corruption rises) is due to India's Population. There are officially 1.2 billion people in this country (unofficially may be 1.3 or 1.4 billion). With so many people and limited resources everybody wants to have their piece of cake. In such scenarios it is natural that people will manipulate others, kill others, conspire against each other. And unfortunately for such large population the ruling government (be it Congress, BJP, JD or a coalition) find themselves handicapped. There will always be people who will go to any length to protect their vested interest. I do not think the situation is going to improve in future since the population is going to grow which results in more shortage of resources resulting in more people taking the path of corruption. If you do not agree that population is the main cause of corruption then consider this
1. Even though China has more population than India they also have almost 3 times the size of land area so there are still plenty of resource available. More ever China is ruled by communist government which has a political will to make their country better.
2. US also is roughly 3 times bigger than India but their population is one third of India.
3. Other countries which regularly appears in top global listings are so very small.

False argument. Do not look at population but at the population density (people/sq km). Japan and many western european countries have much higher pop density than India, but corruption there is almost non-existent.....

In Japan, the pop density is so high that a car parking place costs 5-10 times the price of car.....However in the last earthquake, the whole world admired Japan for their decency and civic sense. There were people who ran out of shopping centres when the building trembled, but once its was over they came back to pay their bills. That is what is called culture.

In India, the culture is to see how to exploit others and make money. Nothing to do with population

The cause of corruption in consumerism. Your zeal to make more money comes from the urge to buy goodies. Earlier, there was not much development and hence nothing much to buy except land (which was also cheap). But now you want money to buy all those things which you don't need- like expensive cars, mobile phones, land in a posh area etc..
But, this is all part of industrialization and economic growth. India's problem is that it was never ever one country, and never had one agenda until the British. Once they left, we are all back to the separated agenda.

There is so much consumerism in the west, but no one does corruption......Trains in the west do not have ticket collectors to check tickets. Every one simply buys one....There is no traffic constable at the cross roads, everyone simply obeys the signals.....Some of the poorest countries in Africa are horribly corrupt. Corruption is nothing to do with consumerism.

It is all about culture and self-esteem. A culture where people have a sense of self-respect and self-esteem will not have corruption.

In India people can lick someone's feet if it suits them with the same enthusiasm as holding his throat if that suits them. Illiterate or literate, the culture is the same.

We need transparency in all government dealings
by Ramadas on May 05, 2011 06:23 AM  | Hide replies

To bring transparency, we need:

1. UIDcard for every individual in India;
2. Bank account for every individual in India;
3. Currency denomination should not be more than Rs 100; Pakistan's oounterfiet currency printing will stop; politicians and moneylaunderers will have to use trucks to cart their loot; and
4. Tracking system should be implemented in all government departments. If an individual goes to a government department for a service, his/her UIDcard will be scanned for issuing a token. The token will reflect the applicant's details, date, time, queue number and barcode of the queue number. This queue number must be captured with date and time at every processing point in the government department.
