Root Cause Analysis

Giving reservations to some citizens of some oppression many many centuries ago, putting marks to failed students in 10th std and PUC because of losing their virginity in childhood, and ruining high merited students marks, robbing homes of empowered women, .........., the list is never ending and to top it all the corruption levels, if all these things are destroying citizens and therefore the country, obviously there is going to crisis even for a morsel of food. And stop pampering those murthies and nilekanis who didnt have even entanni in their pockets when they were childs

Agriculture should also be our culture

Indians were predominantly agriculturists, hard working and simple. With the advent of the British the Foreigners had enough agriculturists but lacked suffecient supply of clerks for accounting for the revenue they extracted and exported to England. The clerks who knew English, using there links with the Foreigners in power, created an image that they are modern, wealthy and upper class. The poor agriculturists left their vocation in favour of english education and started becoming clerks, the glorified among them entered the IAS, IPS, IFS etc to the utter ruin of our agricultural Sector. The english educated Constitutional forefathers who dressed as Europeans and spoke english set rules and regualtions aping english to the utter ruin of the agriculture. We are still the promoting clerkism and now this clerks along with political power monkers have neglected the feeder category, the agriculturists. The result is the looming food crisis which is a logical sequel to our wrong attitude and behaviour.

Though I agree with your views, this is not the only cause. The greedy Industrialists, Miners and Builders have also their share of blame for the present situation. Industry is no doubt needed but we forget the basic fact that one can survive without an industrial product but none can survive without food. More and more fertile land is being acquired by the industrialits and by the builders in urban and semiurban areas where food was once grown. I recall one statement of Mr.Sharad Pawar who once said that in US hardly 10% of the land is under agricultural actitivy and the rest is for industry and houses. He wanted similar situation in India. Now you tell me what other situation do you expect when our policy makers are of this opinion. You also have a point in your say. When every body is tempted to go for a clerical job there is considerable decrease in the workforce for agricultural activity. It is a vicious circle. Since there is no much benefit from the agricultural activity more and more people are abandoning this activity. If food prices are increased there will be hue and cry from the public . They do not mind to buy a 100 rupess cinema ticket but they would be highly critical when they are required to buy oninon at Rs 25 per kg even occassionaly. Even otherwise farmers hardly gate any benefit of price rise as the major chunk goes to adates and dalals. Who will control these people?

It is high time that oppressed employees of private firms to return back to native land to look after agriculture. It will give boost to agriculture, reduce unemployment and stop abuse of working class by the employers (Private).

Agricultural land are all already acquired by the governments to build farm houses and apartments. The pittance given for land is already spent. There is nowhere to go now.

Maran has 323 telephone lines in Chennai
by Pappu Nuni on Jun 02, 2011 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

Chennai: Indeed a shocking, daring robbery. A telecom central minister from Tamil Nadu got the BSNL to connect 323 telephone lines to his home, not in Delhi where he had work, but in Chennai where he had none. He got all the 323 home lines listed not in his name but in the name of the Chief General Manager BSNL Chennai. These lines virtually constituted a telephone exchange in the minister's home.
