govt should nationalise Reliance Industries Limited. they are the culprits. They are choor No.1s. They are extracting oils from indian soils and exporting and minting money. Govt. should nationalise all these private sector oil firms. Govt should nationalise all these private sector companies extracting natural resources.

Round off the cost to nearest rupee
by Rishi A on Feb 28, 2011 05:08 PM

Govt. must round off the prices of petrol to nearest rupee. Most of the time, the price will be in Paise and when we go to any petrol bunk, we never get change. In Hyderabad the present cost of petrol is 65.15. When we take 1 liter petrol, we need to shell out Rs.66 per liter. You never get petrol for the full amount unless you buy 10 liters

It was in 1960s that Government had started Oil Pool account. Over the years huge amount was collected in this account. The purpose was then if Oil prices rise in International market then deficit can be made good from this account and no need to rise prices, but never this fund was utilised and even after this account Government was raising prices. In this fund trillions of Rupees were collected and never used to contraol deficit. Nani Palkhiwalla I remember in one of his budget speech mentioned that in this account such a huge amount is collected ( from tax payer's money ) that for another 100 years we need not raise Petral prices. To day this oilpool fund account has disappeared!!!! Every one knows these money is being taken away by corrupt politicians and officers and deposited in foreign banks, these people have looted this country with two hands , they have created such thing that we say even Britishers had not looted this country so much in their 150 years rule. Why no one is asking where this money has gone?

Oil companies are not making loss it is all fooling us, in Thailand even to day Petrol is selling for Rs 20 per liter, Bangladesh it is selling Rs 23 per liter, they do not make any loss, they never said they loose money so where is the question of loss to Indian oil company? This is nothing but looting the poor people of this country.

Now we have to teach a lesson to Congress in coming state elections as oil prices are not reduced.

if..

What is contributing to the hike in prices of fuel is the the government collects tax on fuel on a percentage basis and not per liter basis. If government fixes a per liter tax, then whatever hike in international market would have moderate effect on the final endproduct price for a common man.

What is happening here is that the crude oil price is rising and the share of tax is also increasing proportionately.

We should press for a per liter tax option to the government.

CRUDE PRICES
by umamahesh kar on Feb 28, 2011 04:48 PM

I do not understand why crude prices are left to be determined by some white collared thugs in New York. Any news, good, bad, ugly is manipulated to hike prices and pocket gains. China, India, Japan, etc can surely work out a system to keep these rogues out of the system. It is high time these countries came together and worked out a system different from Brent for determining prices
