Taxation Policy
by sriraam subramaniam on Feb 28, 2011 05:36 PM  | Hide replies

We the Public should protest for the continuous increase in fuel and gas prices in our Country. Due to this the price of the various commodities also increase. In Pakistan the Price of the Petrol is Rs.20/- and in Bangldesh it is Rs.22/- Why it shoul Rs. 70 per litre here?

Who are answerale for the 2G Spectrum Looting?
Who is going to take the Accountability? President, Prime Minister and or other Higher Officials. It our country Democratic?
We are really ashamed because there is no accountability and the Politicians are acting Whimsical so to Bureaucrats, Technocrats and Aristocrates? Who would protect us against this? GOD PLEASE SAVE OUR COUNTRY AND TAKE KALKI AVATAR.

Sriraam Kolkata.

Food prices are rising, inflation is very high, fuel prices are very high and lot more. Be practical. How many of us know what is GDP? only 5-10%. What majority of the people know is price rise of all commodities. Govt. should do someting to bring the prices of all essential commodities down.

Forget about people who travel in car. We travel by public transport. If there is increase in diesel price, there is imm. increase in bus fare. Are we not affected by this rise? Food prices increase because of increase in transportation cost. Stop justifying.

I think

I think the government should change the taxation policy for fuel... instead of charging percentage of tax it should go for a fixed small amount of tax and that would do a lot good than the subsidies,,,,,et a.

Hoodwinking the public
by Ramakrishnan S on Feb 28, 2011 05:17 PM

There are lot and lot of inefficiencies, corruption and what not loaded into the costing of oil prices by these companies which are passed on to public. These type of stories were told to public when telecom services were fully under Govt control. But the telecom and courier charges has come down even after such a higlevel inflation over the last one decade. How the cost of telepone charges for long distance call has come down? For example a decade back we were forced to pay to Govt telecom Rs 18-20 per minute of STD( it was higher at peak hours), but now we are paying Rs 0.50 per minute. This is mainly due to libralisation. Same is the case with Electricity and list is endless. Govt is hoodwinking the public.
