But even 50 years down to life our grands kids will harp the same tune if its not done to quell this curruption. Corruption needs to be uprooted at grass root level that snow balls in to big scam and scamters. Middle class aways think that its is downtrodden and its excercise of vote will not protrude the corrupt out of the gear. Our thoughts are seeded in that way that middle class will always get the drubbing irrespective of situation.
"The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them." -Einstein
Corruption will be prevented only if Indians break free like USSR. USSR republics are relatively free from corruption and prospering rapidly (doingbusiness . org/rankings)
Georgia - 12, Estonia - 17, Lithuania - 23 Latvia - 24, Kyrgyzstan - 44, Armenia - 48, Azerbaijan - 54, Kazakhstan - 59, Belarus - 68, Moldova - 90, Russia - 123, . . INDIA - 134 (China 79) . Tajikistan - 139, Ukraine - 145, Uzbekistan - 150.

what will be Russia's equivalent in India? USSR was one big state of Russia and rest all add-ons. do you think that is comparable?
also if you notice the 3 baltic states rank 17th, 23th, 24th, so there is the baltic/scandanavian factor which is missing in India.
how about issues other than corruption? don't you think India will be just like Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh or Burma, totally insignificant to rest of the world. I believe the Indian comparison should be more with Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc and not Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia...
.. write want to say that basically middle class is corrupt. He only want status-quo for our politicians in the name of democracy. If more than 50% don't vote for a govt. tahn in the name of democracy they can't be ruled and ignored.
Its time for Lokpal bill to curb corruption. Simultaneously there shld be election reforms, also intead of voting candidates we shld directly choose President. Also Rajya Sabha shld be abolished which is one of the reason of corruption.
Above all we shld be beware of this propoganda war frm high and mighty.

For all the faults of civil activists, if any, (and i don't agree with any faults mentioned by you above), it is still better that there is sombody to check the unfeterred power of the politicians. This is part of the check and balance in a democracy.
The civil activists in the forefront of this movement gain their legitimacy from the massive public support they got in this fight against corruption, just like politicians get legitimacy from elections.
The government always has the oppotion to ignore the movement as they do in most cases. But they know that more than 80% indians support Anna Hazare as per a survey done recently by some newspaper (i forgot which).
I believe what anna is doing may be very much beneficial for us, but this is aginst the democracy.this is sheer blackmailing and the people following anna just have the herd mentality. As an indian how can i allow somebody to represent me without a consensus.I dnt trust Bushans,Agnivesh...I believe Ratan Tata whould be one of the members, other people may have ther own choice. Why is it that, wht Anna chose only those people should represnt the civil society.I being a youth, urge others dnt follow anything blindly just get to the roots and acccet the facts..
I think there should be a consensus, kind of election between these social activist.Yeah, we have suffered from corruption, but as the govt is corrupt psycology is prompting us to put these guys ahead, but who knws aht has transpired beneath.Bushans have 230 croores welath being a lawyer, he was in the BJP govt.Anna seems to be a RSS supporter(he is 7th grade passout),Ramdev wants his own polotical party floated,Kiran bedi never charged a hawaldar orn corruption, keriwal has made a carrer out of false PIL...

and you earning your money by blogging almost all pro congress statements, how much money have you been provided by the congress party?
IRRESPECTIVE OF CLASS, COMMUNITY,CREED, LANGUAGE, AND RELIGION, EVERYONE OF US IS AFFECTED BY THE CORRUPTION. IF ANNA'S MOVEMENT FAILS, PEOPLE AFFECTED WILL RESORT TO OUSTER OF GOVERNMENTS AS IT IS HAPPENING ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD. NO DOUBT CONGRESS IS THE ARCHITECT OF CORRUPTION ESCALATION IN THIS COUNTRY. EVERY OTHER PARTY FOLLOWS THEM. WILL PEOPLE TEACH CONGRESS A RIGHT LESSON IN THE NEXT ELECTIONS? WE HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE....

the bribe giver and accepter both are responsible , both must be held responsible for spreading of corruption.

We are talking about responsibility for the rotten system. The party in power should take responsibility for that. What's the use of being in power if you cannot make the system people friendly?

1,00,000,00,00,000 (1 lac crore) rupees, that is the kind of numbers we should be worried about. 2G scam is beyond comparison to anything else and that should be the focus; else every minority case will distract the discussions and Swiss banks will keep bloating with Indian black money.

the truth is BJP is not interested in removing corruption, but it is interested to follow 50 years of ruling system of congress.

what is your point about what Congress should do or BJP should do, now that you stated that BJP are simply interested in following Congress? If every logic makes all parties same with one broad-brush, where is the hope? Nobody will get punished going by your logic? Pl detail your point.
