A good sign...
by Discusion Forum on May 07, 2011 04:45 PM

Recent development is a good sign. Persons like Mr. Kalmadi is in jail which is a good signal for corrupt people. The feeling of rich and mighty that the courts and judiciary cannot touch them should be changed.

Corruption is not a problem with India
by Nikhil Shah on Apr 24, 2011 08:48 AM  | Hide replies

India missed out on the Industrial revolution. The difference for missing out is about $600 - $700 trillion dollars. The problem due to corruption is only about $5 - 6 trillion, in which case we would be ahead by 10 years and not much.

India, and China's root were buried too deep in the soil and transiting from a 99% agricultural culture was going be slow. The advances made by the West during the middle ages also pushed the changes.

That's an excuse for perpetuating a bad situation. Let's talk about how to fix it rather than excusing it.

Nuclear Power Plant coming up in Mumbai
by kept on Apr 20, 2011 02:32 PM

Jairam ramesh is environ minister he should talk only about environ protection but is talking about everything else like electricity is needed for development etc. etc. No Nuclear project in the world was given conditional clearance before, If conditions are not met after erecting nuclear plant are going to dismantle it? He should resign for environ ministry and join industry ministry. Shame on Jairam and his masters sitting at Janpath!!. With project of the magnitude of jaitapur (World's largest nuclear project) if any mishap takes place it will not only affect environment but also human life in 200 km radius including mumbai. over a period of time people will succumb to cancer and other thyro. deseases. Clean air and clean water should be the definition of human development. not industry, swanky cars and palaces, pollution and diabetis, heart deseases and cancer ...
Instead of building it on innocent rural peoples land, dangering their life and supplying power to cities,Set up the plant in mumbai. people and industries in/nearby cities consume most power so let this plant be in their backyard, If you want reward, have risk also.

RTI against Corruption
by VOTER on Apr 20, 2011 02:00 PM  | Hide replies

India has a long history of corruption since ages. Corrupt practices of Hinduism led to castesim leading to disunity in Hindu society. This eventually led to slavery under Mughals & British rule. Hard won independence is lost to corruption raj. It’s a full circle .Corruption again is destabilizing the republic.
Save india from corruption –use RTI- Be a responsible Indian.

Dear don't' blame Hindu religion. In each and every religion such harassment prevails.Slave trade was encouraged by European Christians and Arabs.Black and white disparity still prevails in Western countries who are Christians. You know pretty well to what extend the black people suffered at the hands of white Christians. In Muslim countries there is deep envy between sunny and shia sects. That reflected in Iran-Irak war in which one million people died. The whole Arab states people are Muslims. But they are not united.Such colosal deaths not happened in India which is only because that Hinduism prevails here.

A CASE
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Apr 20, 2011 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

At state level today no one is concerned about corruption in elections - as they feel every one is corrupt in politics in the country .so performance and the development done at the lowest level is more important than corruption.take for example DMK even a second class student know they are corrupt - who gives them vote - the back ward classes not those financially but(Reservation category) others for whom the dole is given all the time and every time increasing .Corruption really is seen as the evil to be tackled by centre with stringent laws , and unbised investigation and finally a very severe punishment - this can not happen as the people in power are most corrupt ,just like the money stashed in forign banks is with these politician and the MPs are being maintained by the industrialists . The only way is people acting and throwing this scum in gutters - if this odes not happen soon the people will take law in to their hands - may be that is the only alternative ,which I may not be alive to see . so at local level it is more of development than corruption which is important .The most corrupt DMK still win because of the doles they keep on gviing to reserved category which forms a major portion of population ,same is going to be in Cudapa it does not matter how much jagan and his father have looted .These are many who beniifted - so Corruption will nto be an issue in state level .
