deep bahan rickshaw is a good innovation. it is doubtful if it will improve the lot of rickshaw puller. 1. i had financed about 400 rickshaws at 4% per annum interest while serving in a PSU bank. 2. they never paid the full loan. 3. after having rickshaw of their own they have problem with repairs, tyres and spares. they have no money for it. 4. they indulge in drinking and finally end up with TB. 5. some sensible persons are there in their lot but they go ahead beyond rickshaw pulling. 6. sickness, liqour, police, and money lenders are harrasing them everyday.
It seems like a mediocore work done by IIT. The design really looks shoddy. They should also have made improved on the mechanical parts or use motors run on solar cells. Even chor bazaar makes better products
