If the commoners of India were not so

stupid, public pressure would have built up on the govt. to an extent that the latter would have been forced to pass a bill to confiscate most of the reserves and assets of the Reliance 'empire' and then proceed to work out an arrangement for management of the companies after divesting the Ambani brothers of their stakes !

Such is the scale and magnitude of diversion of public funds that has happened over the past few decades to benefit that group !

Corruption ... empty talk...
by SekharaM on Dec 05, 2010 08:04 PM

What is the point of the tons of articles and messages on corruption, when there is no will on the part of the people to act against the perpetrators of this evil?
When the time comes to vote, the same people who are shouting from the housetops will join hands with the corrupt politicians for personal gain.
Yes, no walk of life is spared by corruption. What is the common man doing about it? We shout about dynasty rule. Come elections, we vote for the same Soniaamma (who became the mother of all self-seeking Congress politicians) and Rahulji's candidates. Please show me one case where a prominent politician or official has gone to jail on cases of corruption.
Today it is a fact that a person has to spend 5 crores to get elected as MP. Do you expect that he will spend that money for the sake of public service? This is a business investment. The MP can only make the money through such scams at the cost of the taxpayer - that is us.
Let us ask ourselves .. what have we done personally to prevent the spread of this disease? Corruption flourishes when the people pay bribes quitely to get their jobs done.

That commons Indians are corrupt is palpable enough.

But the stupid middle classes of India keep opting to bray that India is an 'emerging superpower', 'emerging economic giant', a 'vibrant economy', etc.

These stupid sections are completely taken in by the corrupt section of the media; the very same section that is proved as incorrigibly corrupt by the Nira Radia tapes !!

Do we remember a guy called Telgi who named Pawar & Bhujbal in his narco test?

Do we remember Madhu Koda & Kripa Shankar Singh(who reportedly owns 2000 Cr from being a vegetable vendor earlier)?

Do we remember Lalu and his fodder scam today?

They say, you are doomed if you don't learn from history. And we don't!!!
