Now it is time to talk about eradicating corruption....
by Globalcrusador on Dec 04, 2010 04:16 PM

We Indians gloat about the corruption around us. Do we as Indians or the Indian Government have the resolute intent to putting an end to it? I doubt else the Indian Government would have brought in draconian measures by now to end graft all around us. I can bet 50 years later we would continue to gloat about it as we now are. The will to end it is just not visible.

Welcome
Govt. talking corruption...ah jokes!
by Welcome on Dec 01, 2010 12:56 AM

Give me a break with this corruption talk. I think it's time to define the term corruption both morally and legally. People, who are shouting from the rooftops about corruption, think again. To address the problem of corruption one should at least know what corruption is. In my view, leaving lot of loopholes in the system without addressing them is corruption. Enacting laws and not implementing them is corruption. Also using the laws on need and case basis is corruption. Not logging all the government transactions is corruption. Leaving discretionary powers in the hands of government servants for decision making is corruption. Not having public oversight reviews on government transactions is corruption. Government using cash transactions is corruption. Putting common man into economically disadvantageous position over any other cohort is corruption.

The recent corruption talk from the administration has nothing to do with the above issues. It's just a media hype to create negative sentiment. Looks like times are tough and the Govt. appears to take some drastic steps behind the negative sentiment.

Corruption , is it an issue after all in today's context
by DURGA MOHANTY on Nov 30, 2010 07:14 PM

Corruption has virtually engulfed our system . It has become so deep rooted that one can not completely eradicate this malaise without bringing the process of development of our economy to a complete standstill . Perhaps we had missed the trick long back in the 70s when the then charismatic Prime minister of India Late Mrs Gandhi had manfully and almost unapologetically declared that 'Corruption is a part of our life'. So the next best couse open now is to tolerate corruption to some extent for the sake of development . But most importantly the efficiency at all spheres need to be preached , practised and achieved . In fact in the longer run it will act as an an antidote to corruption and the corruption could gradually be weeded out from our system.

NEED OF HOUR
by Ram R on Nov 30, 2010 01:42 PM

We need new party, new face to lead. Also change constitution in such a way, Ministers are only for policy making. Implementation is absolutely to independant agency, which is not suppose to report P.M. or any one. Agency should be monitored, by Supreme Court, if any complaint. Public should have monitoring system to over view job. Without Check and Balance, you can not remove corruption and corrupts. Through these seasoned criminal politicians. They are Fat sitting in Parliament, making plan to loot Country.
Only proffesionals will be assigned job of experts for implementations.

We need a new party.

Scamgress & Bharatiya Corruption Party can merge & form a new party. There is no difference in their policies(to loot India). But this will be better than left policies (to sell India).

incorrect to blame anyone??
by punt007@rediffmail.com on Nov 30, 2010 11:37 AM  | Hide replies

all of the ppl who r discussing in this forum against corruption should remember that if anyone of us gets a chance to reach to a powerful position where we can dictate terms, I am sure none of us would leave the opportunity to earn a quick buck. Today none of us r in that position so we just grouse endlessly against the rich and powerful lobby in south block.

NB: I do not encourage corruption and I am for completely getting this menace weeded out of our society, but the sad fact is that corruption runs in our blood. I will take ages b4 we become a corrupt free, civilized and a true democracy.

I am with you. and fully agree with your view point. First it was A raja, and now it is kapil sibal who has given show cause notices to some telecom companies. what will happen later? He will be bribed, money will go to swiss banks account of minister, and ultimately, there will be another scam.

You are right. But every one is not competant to reach top. Need of hour is to make such a law and check /balance procedure, so that no one can do corruption, even if he wants. This can be done. But our leaders are corrupt themself, hence they make sure no such rule exist.
WHY MMS SONIA ALLOWED RAJA TO BE MINISTER> HE LOOKS THIEF FROM LOOKS.

If you have seen photos of weddings in families of some politicians in south as well as in Maharashtra like that of Narayan Rane and Gadkari's sons, every ordinary person will think from where all this money came? Such weddings were attended by politicians from all parties, but has anyone raised any question on it? So are our politicians. All are corrupt and same to loot Aam admis hard earned money.
