Airlines staff are paid handsomely.
by Sathish N on May 26, 2010 10:26 AM  | Hide replies

What is the criteria that they deserve to be paid more? If the skillset required is nothing special, can they be replaced with more sensible and service minded individuals?? Many behave as though they are doing a favour.

The airline should be closed immediately. These employees are living in fools paradise. Once they are on road they would realise the value of jobs leave aside service to passengers or the country which is paying through its nose for their tantrums.

Real REASON for Strike
by iota on May 26, 2010 10:24 AM

AI operated a few flights from Dubai to India to ferry relatives of Passengers who unfortunately died in Mangalore Air Crash.

Since, AI Engineers refused to do routine checks and sign-off on these planes(dont know why), AI employed Kingfisher Airlines Engineers to do the Sign-Off.

This gave AI Engineers sleepless night. And they went on Strike.

Matter of time before AI close shop
by Ramadas on May 26, 2010 10:22 AM  | Hide replies

Passengers are going to feel that AI service is not releable. Therefore, they will soon give up on AI. AI staff then can have long unpaid holidays. But the poor ministers and their families will also miss their free flights. The problem with AI is not only their staff but also the babus.

Cancellation of Flights
by appalla shankar on May 26, 2010 10:14 AM

Services need not be cancelled as the loss incurred to the passengers cannot be reimbursed as it may be for, Health, job opportuinity, corporate contracts and other such essential. In case if Air India, it is employees that are not adhering to minimum social norms. In such a case the Air India Authorities may immideately employ staff on contract basis form other airlines with an adequate MOU. The proportionate amount equivalent to the charges of Contract eployees for that day may be deducted from the salaries of the staff on strike. Its is simple, and flights may continue as per schedule. Private participants will welcome this and passengers will not be affected. Thats the solution for the problem.

if any strike is their right, they should give notice some days ahead, so that mental tensions due to sudden cancellation of flights for approx.(76*100 people) will be avoided.

friends do you all know that Lal Bahadur Shastri resigned from Nehru's cabinet taking moral responsibility of an accident down south in TN. Pawar, Praful, Mamata etc etc should feel ashamed. they simply say they take moral responsibility they neither find a permamant cure to the problem nor do they resign and sit at home.
