Hi ALL
Its just a pathectic shame that our country is graded with poor nations of the world..and yet we keep telling and fooling ourseves...that we are the fastest growing economy.Does anyone know what is like staying hungry for days..just imagine your own kid would you able to bear it..the answer is NO...yet our govt is still dealing with massive corruption and communalism...we as a nation only concentrate on cricket which we think is our greatest achievements..and for those who think they are well off and think they should not bother about the poor compare yourselves to western nations Atleast thier middleclass and higher middle class dont live in matchbox house(I mean flats)..and thier children dont go hungry...dont give me small statistic that in the US there are hungry children..its small number..We have idiots like MNS and shiv sena who concentrate on politic gimmicks in breaking showrooms and give importance to issues like mumbai or bombay..rather than like issues like hunger..did you know that 60% of bombays population lives in slums..(I wish that a die hard MNS or shivesena person would answer this..)
We are a poor nation but its hard to admit..cause we are just happy the way we live and dont bother to care about the hungry..Dont even go there to ask a question as to what have I done for my country ..i sponpser 5 orphanage kids in india and was an active member of collecting donations for the gujarat earthquake..I feel we should really ashamed of our govt...

Mr. Instead of blaming the govenment who is responsible body for all these you blame MNS,Shive Sena, and you are talking about slum in Mumbai, these are not Mumbai people, think the root cause from this point of view,if the jobs in Maharashtra given to other state's people where the local go,second if the space in mumbai is limited where the immigrants from other state live when the living cost is so high in Mumbai --simply in slums, and those who lives in mumbai will surely not hungry. You are doing a great job for being an activist. You know we Indian's never want equality among our people which makes our thinking level so low and cheap.

Shall we blame our Government?
by Sudha on Mar 29, 2010 10:04 AM  | Hide replies

State government: Responsible for the its own state peoples and development. Almost the politicians whomever making entry to the politics are keen to make money and having huge properties. further they want to save their property means they should remain in politics forever so they plan accordingly and making the public fools. for example Tamil Nadu government giving distributing the rice for 1 rupee, which is purchased by 18 rupees. Our peoples are happy to get this kind and they are enjoying. Problem is 'How long it will continue'? reason for this is present running government want to remain in position to save their 10k crores of property so they are making loss to the state around 1000k crores. Our people and even central government not bothered about the loss of our manpower.
Central government: Which is ran by all state peoples making fun with race and languages and Hinduism and Muslim will never make our country to come up.
My idea: Stop all the free schemes and teach and build the country which can withstand on its own. Let every citizen to earn his own bread. Don't make fools. Learn the lesson from developed countries and improve the infrastructure and lifestyle too. Teach the people to work hard on the subjects which makes our India proud. Even in this scientific era telling that peoples are going hungry is shame on my country. I CAN SAY OUR GOVERNMENT WITH UNSKILLED POLITICIANS ARE THE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND GOING TO BE IN FUTURE TOO

you are absolutely right I appreciate the way you think,we are just wasting a lots for our entertainment instead of utilizing our money for benefit of poor people. We should not feel ashamed but to live in the reality and truth that there are lots of poor in our country who need our support.Who will better do the job what sudha said only the educated and wealthy people but here people don't want to work for welfare instead of making money for their own comfort.

No Sir. Staistics show that the % of people/ number of people below poverty line is increasing and not decreasing. The benefit if Globalisation etc stops with Cities / educated. / urbanites. The common man is not at all benefitted. The quantum of poor peopl/ crimes/ diseases dur to these people will only increase.

you cannot be best sports people if not fed proper diet.

Yes i know that green revolution made indians feeding MORE on rice and wheat have more diabetes instead of traditional grains like gawar, bajra, etc.
