PRAKASH VAZIRANI
Hunger
by PRAKASH VAZIRANI on Mar 27, 2010 11:34 AM  | Hide replies

It is shame on Economist Prime Minister of India who is ruling India since last 7 years but instead of improving the economy by his economics , he is made it worst. See the very high inflation, hunger, wastage of food in godowns but this Prime Minister is only busy doing things for the United States of America, everytime whenever he is unable to help USA, he threatens to resign but he has no time to think of poor masses of India, who are worst in his regime. He is ready to give concessions to businessnessmen and rich but he wants to remove all subsidies for the poor. He is only for the Rich and possibly an agent for USA.

i DO NOT CONCUR WITH YOU AS FIRST OF ALL, he is not a political leader elected by people, as such no decision maker but implementor. Secondly, I am asking you why the people of India indulge in procreation rather than production. Why can't thay volunteer for zero growth population. Why Muslims of India prefer unlimited population, when they can not feed them (Is it a sacrifice to increase numbers for a better tomorrow when they outnumber other religions?). Alas, If Sanjay Gandhi is alive today!

I agree with Prakash Vazirani in his assessment about our prime minister. My own experience of working as geologist working since last 40 years in the most mineral resources rich areas of india shows that since the early nineties, the time of globalization initiated by Monmohan Singh under the prime ministership of Narasingha Rao, oppression on the rural people[most of whom are tribals], living in these mineral rich areas has increased manifold. Corporate violence to evict these hunrry people from their native place has only increasd hunger and death. It is only an illusion that these industrialisations are doing anything good for the locals. Social conflict increasing causing more bloodshed, for which the present prime minister must be held responsible for his pro World Bank economic policy. I will not be surprised if India becomes Vietnam within a few years.

Most of us will miss a day's meal if it helps feeding the hungry people. It is not because of the shortage of food, it is because of mismanagement. FCI is one such party which should be blamed for this mismanagement.

This data is WRONG

It is impossible that one-third of India is without food.

THIS BOOGEY is similar to the one about CLIMATE CHANGE - and R K Pachauri is rightly being punished for false information.

If this were true, there would be food riots.

How is it possible that almost INDIAN FAMILY has mobile phone but no food. Definitely there is a shortage of food, and POLITICIANS are making Vote Banks out of it. Let us understand that too.

Richer are enjoying and poorer are becoming more poorer
by Vinayak Mahindrakar on Mar 27, 2010 10:27 AM  | Hide replies

We spend $4 Billion on IPL in a county where many people die of hunger every day. In the name of poor UP govt spends Crores of rupees for gardening & unveiling statues. Are these bureaucrats enjoying on the cost of poor. It is time that we take a decision & boycott all such events which is not in the interest of conman people.
