It is absolutely false and Biased information. I believe, all the studies taken place by US's finger direction. Now the index of Pakistan & China will be very good because the wave is flowing towards pakistan and china which is created by great america's bloody foreign policy.

Really sorry state of affairs the insensitive Congress has brought our country to after years of corruption, misrule, and vote bank politics.
These hungry poor should gatecrash the 1000s and 1000s of lavish parties of politicians, businessmen, media houses, bollywood stars, IPL Nights parties and so on.
Little wonder Maoists are gaining support for their movement day by day.

Why are u getting surprise with the figure? It is 300 millions, means 30 crores people in India do not have sufficient food to eat per day, which is not surprise to me at all. Our population is 115 crores, and around 26% of our population are living below poverty line that means they do not have $2 per day. May be it is not true, that if a person do not have $2 income per day can not afford two times meals per day. It is showing UNESCO standard which is not exactly correct way to make any one poor or average.
But truth is, unless untill Indian govt. won't able to narrow the gap between rich and poor , India can not be a developed nation no matter how far we grow or our GDP %.

for Indian govt is to remove foe attitude toward neighbor China, being humble, and learning from China. Actually Chinese govt has done a perfect job in eliminating poverty since last so many decades.
talk about hungry minority, and we all get excited. there's a huge store of wheat rotting, but we'd rather use it to hoard and contol prices so that pawar can get fatter and be a stable partner to support and let us sail for 5 years. we'd rather let our election riggers get their due for the next 5 years, we need their services again, you see!

Out of every 10 Indian 6 have mobile phone but no food to eat very strange. More then 600 million of Mobile users are there in India.Even a beggar in the street is holding Mobile Phone in India. India has 550 million of Mobile users in the world 2nd highest after China. If 60% populations are poor then how out of every 100 Indians 60 are using Mobile phone how is it possible.And how every month 10 million new Mobile users are adding in India if 60% are poor.
It is sad to know that even one Indian is hungry. However, the report that 300 million Indians hungry must be unrealistic. It means that 1 out of 3 Indians is hungry. Can this be true?. All of us personally know at least a few hundred people. How many of them are hungry and cannot afford food?. I am from a rural area and know how people struggle to make ends meet. However, I cannot beleive that so many Indians are without sufficient food. I seriously doubt the data. It is true that thousands of Indians cannot fulfill the basic needs but writers need to check facts before publishing online and degrading India and Indians.

Hi ALL Its just a pathectic shame that our country is graded with poor nations of the world..and yet we keep telling and fooling ourseves...that we are the fastest growing economy.Has anyone know what is like staying hungry for days..just imagine your own kid would you able to bear it..the answer is NO...yet our govt is still dealing with massive corruption and communalism...we as a nation only concentrate on cricket which we think is our greatest achievements..and for those who think they are well off and think they should not bother about the poor compare yourselves to western nations Atleast thier middleclass and higher middle class dont live in matchbox house(I mean flats)..and thier children dont go hungry...dont give me small statistic that in the US there are hungry children..its small number..We have idiots like MNS and shiv sena who concentrate on politic gimmicks in breaking showrooms and give importance to issues like mumbai or bombay..rather than like issues like hunger..did you know that 60% of bombays population lives in slums..(I wish that a die hard MNS or shivesena person would answer this..) We are a poor nation but its hard to admit..cause we are just happy the way we live and dont bother to care about the hungry..Dont even go there to ask a question as to what have I done for my country ..i sponpser 5 orphanage kids in india and was an active member of collecting donations for the gujarat earthquake..I feel we should really ashamed of our govt...
