Why?
by Prem Mohan on Jul 01, 2010 08:20 AM  | Hide replies

Why does India command respect today? The answer is obvious. It is because of the leadership provided by Mdm Sonia Gandhi, Dr Manmohan Singh and Mr Rahul Gandhi.

Naxalism or Maoism did not originate today. It originated in the 50s and 60s when India was buiidling its "socialist pattern of society". Of course, there was less media scrutiny then and the rebellion was put down by the Congress.

Its d private sector which has given all d growth n glory.Govt has nothin 2 do with it.Unlike china where d govt actually thinks abt d nation congress has sold off national interests everywhere. We have smaed ourselves by bowing down 2 china & pakistan.Spineless Congis r a disgrace 2 our nation

Nonsense
by Anna Chimbori on Jul 01, 2010 07:57 AM  | Hide replies

This is stupid statement. Many western people think India as a backward country as top MNCs dump their outdated products in Indian market to mint money. This guy is misjudging it as a respect, it is just business strategies that make MNCs say good things about India in press interviews. Still western people think Indians as dirty & smelly people.

Till today India do not have any strong board for judge the quality of products. Rich compnay taking huge loan from bank and purchase all food from farmers with cheap rate and sell good things to foreign country and give waste products to sell India because Indian people do not have enough money to purchase same thing as doller price, such way businessman become more richer and poor become more poorer and poor people not only did not get good food but also spend their more money to cure from dieses.

I think you have it all mixed up. The Indian export of food products is very small. The presence of foreigh companies in the supply chain is negligible. Most food is handled by primitive chains of middlemen and agents. These people do not have the expertise causing vast losses.

In West Bengal, the Forward Bloc has been in charge of agricultural marketing for the last thirty years. Have they done anything to establish a modern and organised agricultural marketing system?

We don;t need this respect
by sreenivasulu reddy on Jul 01, 2010 03:28 AM  | Hide replies

We r making a big mistake. Till now, we saw only positive results because of globalization. But no one is looking at the negative results it is going to bring in near future. It's all going to competition, competition and competition. You have to keep on running and running only till the end of your life. Globalization will benefit only rich and not the poor. Rich will become more and more rich by robbing poor. At present USA is in big depression.Imagine if the same happens to india. I believe it might happen in another 5 years once china, argentina, brazil, Russia and Philippines began competiting with india on IT. It's going to impact indians heavily. Noone is looking at the negative results as noone has the time. Also big retailers will eat all small retailers and no one knows where these poor vendors are going to go. It will impact each and every indian life and there is going to be heavy distubances in indian system. Ofcourse all these are going to impact our social life also. Anyhow i believe damage is already done and it is only a matter of time on indians are going to cope up once it encounters depression like America.

Manmohan "Lion" Singh
by Chalta Hai on Jun 30, 2010 09:14 PM  | Hide replies

People mistake Manmohan Singh's soft spoken attitude as weakness and call him a Sonia stooge.. Sure, Sonia has a great influence on not only him , but the entire India and the congress party.. Do not forget , that it was Manmohan who rescued India's economy out of the financial mess.. As a Phd in economics from Oxford, he is one of the most educated and learned politicians and has far superior knowledge of the world and Indian economy than Lalu-Modi type politicians.. He is a rare gem in Indian Politics.. He is the one who can give direction and guidance to the Indian economy in the 21st century with his knowledge and wisdom.. But it seems , the aam admi is only interested in listening to provocative and loud mouthed politicians lik lalu, modi, mamta etc..

Manmohan is not a Lion but a lame pom dog with a pagdi who love to lick & shine Gandhi family's shoes.

It is world bank who gave stimulus to Indian economy, congress & MMS are given unnecessary credit for economy growth.

MMS Chamcha,

There was someone named NArsimha Rao, the PM of those days, as I remember, who ASKED MMS to follow these policies??

Right??

Or, the UPA govt wants us to forget that any non-Nehru/Gandhi PM has ever done anything good for this country??

Who wish to make India a junk yard of nuclear waste?
Who is planning to take MEGA LOANS for nuclear projects with cooked up parameters?
Who is signing treaties for nuclear projects with foreign countries taking India to a debt trap?
Who spearheaded the SEZ act and preaching forcefully for it?
Who spearheaded the New Exploration Liscensing Policy and when?
Who initiated the GHAT negotiations and when?
Who arranged to sign the ASEAN FTA without the consent of his party and Parliament?

Organised retail is good for companies but bad for country
by smrsraja on Jun 30, 2010 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

These elite business men would make any sweet talks to get their foot hold on the Indian retail business....

But think what would happen if they become strong in that area...Most of the millions of small retail shops owned by small or middle level local people will lose business.

The small retail shops may not be efficient in managing the supply chain currently but the solution is not to wipe them out and bring big companies. We can definitely reform the existing small/medium retail stores to be effective. With our population, its better and apt to have a million small or medium businesses than a few big companies worth million or billon dollar businesses.

These big companies, in the name of efficiency would just loot the people and even the manufacturers once they get the control of supply chain....Big Retail shops can make or break any brand... if a brand does not satisfy with their demands then it will be wiped out irrespective of quality or trust....

We people also should have a clear thought on this. the old saying now should be modified, Be Indian, buy Indian and Buy from Indian....Any large retail chain will be partially or fully owned by foreign companies...why should we make profit for foreign companies when our own brothers and sisters in the same business and starving.....

we have 2 India now, this is for the 20% ( new) India not the 80% of the original India

by ajit d on Jun 30, 2010 08:32 PM

Why these idots are talking off. They are least bothered about the economical health of people or country. One Mr singh is playing gulli danda and one lalu is delivering lecture at MIT on management. The respect is due to hardwork of people of india. Do u know the history of india, they gave respect to all emporerors like Bahadur Shah Zafar etc.. what happened if u dont know go to kinder garden. People should feel the economy to be good, we dont need any certificates from US or UK
