this is not an apt symbol at all considering the basic requirement of the contest that it should represent Indian cultural ethos and historical ethos. There is nothing in it to convey that. It is just a combination of devanagri and roman letters. in fact the original design made by Uday is not even having roman script. if it represents the fact that Indian culture is a mix of traditional indian and western culture then it is trivial as this is the case with almost all countries. There are certain things that you feel proud about being an Indian and none of them is reflected in this. Moreover the contest itself was conducted in a doubtful manner. The contest rules were not clearly laid out creating confusion in the minds of participants.

, €, , $, ¥. These are the five currency symbols that are already there including the Chinese Yuan. Is Chinese currency not a part of elite club. In that event, how can Indian Rupee become part of elite club? Can someone please explain.
Why do we need 2 horizontal parallel lines like the Dollar and Euro have. Why do we need to copy. Why cant we have simple Devnaagri " रु " symbol. Let the world follow us.
