"Strangely, the survey makes no mention of the famed Mumbai traffic jams."

That is because of the lifeline in Mumbai, the local trains. Local trains cover Borivili to Chrchgate in 1 hour, a distance of 40km approx. 60L people use this service daily. So, in a city, the 45% of people can travel fast.
This is the reason, Mumbai is not there.

This makes a strong case for mass public transport and discourage private vehicles on road.

Bangaloru traffic news is worse.
Very aggressive locals. Obnoxious shopkeepers. Locals think they own the roads. Too many cases of attacks on outsiders. If actor poster not there on your vehicle, it is stoned. It deserves Number 1 position.

Even with traffic jams and sky rocketing vegetable prices in Delhi, it seems whole of India wants a piece of Delhi, that’s why real estate prices and house, flats rent have reached their mount everest point in delhi…..i am an outsider who works in delhi and 60% of my salary goes to rent…….i think its better to die than live in national capital of India.

From where are you getting these wrong statistics about the Capital City of our Country? Please, please, for God sake report the TRUTH. Go around the city in all nook and corner, travel in the most modern buses of the city - in autos driven by the most courteous drivers - in the Blue line and RTV buses operated by well behaved, well dressed, conductors, cleaners and drivers, watch the beautiful Yamuna, the gandha naalaas, people urinating every where like dogs...........

That is India people not Delhi. Its true Delhi is now not a livable city and has a million flaws. But most other Indian cities are havin Rural and Ruric-Urban Indians only.. and they all urinate on walls, spit tobacco, and behave similarly. Ive studied in Pune and before reaching Mumbai Station have seen em siting in line with a 'lota' crapping publicly. Its India.. not just Delhi.

Traffic woes in India
by ravitalisma on Jul 02, 2010 05:26 PM  | Hide replies

Result of corruption and reverse development, due to uneducated leaders ruling the country and looting all the country money it has become a living dead country. I pity we live in this country. Corruption will never end here. Now it has also started Caste census. What a shame to our democracy to perform Caste census.

Why do we then treat Politicians with first class? Is it our Feudal background? When US gives am 'Equal Pat Down' treatment to them, all our country was fighting for their (dis) honor!

MUMBAI is far superior than any other city in India. Only the Kangress stands out prominently from it's mist like an eyesore alongwith all the filth it has poured into MUMBAI. But still, MUMBAI is good.
