King of Vegitables
by kuchalag on Feb 04, 2010 03:08 PM

When I was kid, I learnt, Brinjal is the king of vegetables.. Now I find the king is under massive attack from MNC's. Whenever I hear of the term, BT or GM, the reasoning, is we will be able to produce more with less.. growth, improved productivity,, though its a different matter, that it will screw up the land, soil, nature.. I'm not sure if these traders would come up with something that will help the moms to produce kids in perhaps 3 months, instead of 9... its a diff matter that it will screwup the health of the same mother earth who has been sufficent..so far, to fufill our needs but now who can cope up with the greed of mankind... who always wants more.

We used to eat less but it was sufficient to live healthy and fit... today we eat more meals, more junk, waste more, but still we are more hungry, weak, and surrounded by all sorts of diseases that nobody every heard.... Do not play with nature... leave it ...we all will be fine..

Instead of just trying to focus on stopping Bt brinjal we shud stop these MNC completely. And prosecute the kagress politicians who are trying to sell us off.
Otherwise soon there will be some other dangerous substance introduced in our food.

The origins of your inferioty complex, frustration and sense of racism is not actually your fault nor because of the vaccum that always existed in your world and will continue to exist, its not even in your genes,it is like a dark patch, the nature will self eliminate, eventually..as it always has and will.Your sense of racist exhiliration is so short lived in all its sense.Because Indians actually is and can get more racist than you or your great grandpa would have imagined. So what is your point of exit?If it is more disgusting, racist, then you might be better off self ejecting.

A smple test can be done on the compost of BT Brinjal & Organic Brinjal copmpost in two pots to feed equal number of earth worms on each pot. I am sure the compost of GM Brinjal will kill all the earthworms. This may be a great evidence of human hazards from BT Brinjal.

Indian Press must do more to bring out these monsters!
by Talisman on Feb 01, 2010 02:40 AM

Indian press has a great subject that threatens the public safety. Hope they realize this story affects them and their children too.

Monsoto kind of companies spread are hoping that their seeds cannot be disntinguished from organic seeds. In other words they want to pollute the conuntry' seed bank before anyone can realize what they are upto.

In US, in super market, the vegetables are labelled as Gene modified vs. pesticide used and organic.

India does not have such a system.

In Thailand, where the same companies introduced the monstrous papaya crops causing all kinds of problems.

Congress gov. better consider their actions in this front carefully. It is nothing short of disaster to allow these foriegn companies to own the seed market in this country of a billion people!

Gov cannot act without taking care of the health of the public.

Even more dangerous then Bt Brinjal
by Aftab Kamal on Feb 01, 2010 01:14 AM  | Hide replies

The question is no Whether but - How dangerous Bt Brinjal will be!!! But there is a another B read Breed that is more dangerous.
These are the corrupt so called scientists who churn out loads of shit described as " Research Studies" or "Scientic Papers"... these are actually worse than toilet papers in worth but are structured in a manner to allow the Judges (already influenced or deceived) to pass favourable laws.... a classic case of blatant "legal terrorism".
The strange thing is that courts would uphold these particular reports and negate others.
The first thing Monsanto did was to enrol Indian bureaucrats and scientists and politicians on their rolls in India...especially in Maharashtra, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh where Bt Cotton have killed at least 10,000 t0 12,000 goats and sheep that grazed on these fields.
If Saif Ali Khan can get Padma.....some shit for killing rare blackbucks...Monsanto deserves Bharat Ratna....delivered on their doorstep by Sri Sri Sharad Pawar and Sri Jai Shri Ram Ramesh.
Mera Bhatat Mahan.
