Corruption at Corporate Sector
by Sujoy Chatterjee on Jan 26, 2010 01:24 PM  | Hide replies

The study punches a hole in the myth that Corporate Sector are far beeter than Government Sector so far as corruption is concerned. On the contrary it points out that in the Coporate/ Private Sector total line up is corrupt, the highest being the top level management. Hence the champions of Private Sector ought to take a beating.Asa a matter of fact Private Sector are like sharks out for a killing. The Corporate sector warrants control and strict regulation otherwise it may wreck havoc. Beware of them!

Greed is the reason behind corruption. It is everywhere. Unfortunately corruption has been accepted as a way of life. That is the reason most of MPs and MLAs of the country r highly corrupt and most of central & state ministers r corrut.

Only popularising simple living can bring down corruption.

Who says Private Sector is not better than Govt. Look at any auctioned Govt company who had all potential for growth and after taking over what happened. Greatest example are Balco where Agrawal of Sterlite has stealed the company after correpting minister and now reaping benefits like czar. He has matched Govt in every respect in correption and still able to produce better no in balance sheet. All taken over companies are golden egg laying to private buyers who are epitome of correption. Long Live Indian Correrpted Enterpeuners. Davos Global Meets will be full of New Success Mantras from Indians. Bend Goverment rules, no Corporate Sterwardship, no social cause only loot own people. Worst than Britishers

Before we speak of corruption, let us introspect
by Ezhil Maran on Jan 26, 2010 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

We are very prompt in criticizing corruption in Government and the overall greed for money and money. But how many of us abide by the rules and regulations ? Right from jumping traffic signals and trying to bribe our way out of it to understating our income, we do everything to circumvent the rules to our satisfaction.

The Government employees and the corporate executives are a part of the society of which we too are a part. What is the use of blaming others when we don't change ourselves?

Only 742

In a population of 100 crores only 742 were interviewed? And it seems that only IT-ITES people were interviewed. Yet another useless research without a proper sample size.

agree - the study size is far to tiny and apparently restricted to a particular few industries that were studied -- in my honest view, Inc. is corrupt, but not each and every one and not at each and every step. We can at least see them deliver while we pay our taxes and put up with the nothing that the govt. gives back in return!

Why so late a study required to know this? The Corporate India is corrupt for more than two decades. In fact private company employees are more corrupt than government officials. This is experienced by everyone in this country.

Srinivas, it is not only India Corporate but the phenomena is every where across the globe. There r very big players in oil and gas in the global market who spend millions od AED/QR/OR to get the contracts. Imagine the case of even Enron who became bankrupt overnight. In India it is at everylevel otherwise how anIAS/IPS can built a house of multi million while their salary is very low with respect to a GET in our country. China is on the top in this matter. Think of now German Car entry - they are not being sold out in their own country but they are managing to enter in our country with large sum paid to house. Almost all the chemical industr in Bitterfield or Leipzig city is dead but guys have managed to play in this country. Corruption is there in all parts of country and the maximum is at Top level and not at bottom or middle level.
