Very soon the Glorious Independent Country of Telangana will be a reality! We will be good neighbours India and Telangana side by side.
Just because the GMR giving too much of bribes they allowed to close the Begumpet Airport. Begumpet airport is very convenient to people. Heart of the city. within few minutes the people can reach home. for travelling to Shamshabad itself is a big circuss feet. too much of national money wasted, too much of productive time wasted, natural resource like fuel power wasted to travel up & down. Only to benefit one private person GMR all politicians made compulsory all flights to land at Shamshabad.

begumpet airport cannot exapand unless you want to displace significant chunk of people from that area. In all cities around the world, ariports are far away from city - no one has an international airport in downtown (city centers) in USA/Europe. You need to come out of your comfort zone. Ariports and traffic problems is a big nuisance if it is within the city. By the way you talk as though you travel through airport daily - it is once in wahile why make a big fuss? Now PVNR expressway is so convenieent to use.

You are quite right.Infact think of a high speed metro link to the airport.Airports need to be out of the main cities
GMR & Congress eaten away lot of money. 5000 acres GMR acquired lands at cost of rs 100000/- on personal names & few lands at Shamshabad. were distributed to the Congress politicians, yarram naidu etc as bribes., only 1700 acres were allocated for Airport. Consortioum huge billions of rupees were bought and few were spent and syphoned to swiss banks and laundered to different areas. Hyderabad Airport is not that great, only on steel that is it. Many local people have not seen the airports & they did not knew the costs they feel it as a great. but real story is only 20% money only for project and other 80% eaten away.
Begumpet airport closed..public money…my tax/blood ….your tax/blood … Begumpet airport can be used as domestic airport…
Farmers land destroyed…
If am paying 1000 rupees to RELIANCE/TATA/INFOSYS… THEY GIVE ME SHARES and PROFIT…
I am paying user development fee everytime….I am developing airport .what is my share what is my profit…
Govt. secretly made an agreement with GMR that when they start operations at the new airport the Govt. will close down the existing Begumpet airport immediately. Further the agreement disallowed building any more airports within 150 KM radius of the new airport. Al Ringer
Instead of selling country to private corporation…. Sudarshan can manage Delhi metro…why cant people can also manage infrastructure projects in India. …
Goons are managing our country …..

Fools... do you know of the hazards of having an airport in the heart of a city? The damage done by the particles from fumes dropping on to the population, or the potential damage if an aircraft crashes into a populated area on approach? Also, the noise from low-flying aircraft at night disturbs sleep and leads to stress and hypertension in the long term. Ask anybody who has lived in the path of the Landing approach in any airport. Why do you think all the world's major airports are on the periphery of the city?

Same is the case with Bangalore Airport...50 kms away from City... Waste of Fuel by '000 of vehicles... waste of time of people on road... accidents on highways from city to airport... and of course Rs.600 per traveller as development charges... and no one should question this!!!.. why?? becoz we are a Democracy.... run by Politicians (GOONDA'S)!!!

fair and correct points... so you want to say that the vehicles are all zero emission.... people are not dying in road accidents.... productivity is not being lost by '000s of people on roads for hours together.... increased pollution due to '000s of vehicles plying to and from airport to city.... what are we talking here.... that an airport 50 kms away from the city is justified for sound pollution... as if the vehicles on Indian roads drive without honking for even a second... so the point here is that people who are supposed to be making sound decisions are not taking all the factors into account.... they are only looking for their own personal gains.... PUBLIC GAYI BHAAD MAE!!!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Hyderabad airport is a fraud on my country

ofcourse it is BAD... India is not a developed country like US or Japan.... that we have to keep imitating these nations while trying to find solutions which are best for India... Look at Mumbai Airport makeover or Delhi Airport makeover.... we have to work within our limited resources and constraints and not get carried away by all this foolhardy of emerging economies and spend so much on things which can be done with much more better economic sense.... there are lot many things to be taken care of by the Govt. and politicians.... Airports are not the only things.... currently these are White Elephants being fed by Public Money!!!
this is really great to hear as hyderabads airport voted among the best 5 of worlds, it seems like that india is leading toward no one. keep up the good work and wishing luck to every one who directly or indirectly made this to happen worlds fifth best airport.

So who is the airport manager - why not mention her/his name. I hope it stays this way - hope management invests in upkeep and does not put short term profit before long term survival.
