A certain amount of lobbying is inevitable since the Govt babus/ministers are corrupt and expect money and everyone does it.Dhirubhai Ambani new the game well and fed these people well and got his work done and his empire grew.Tatas were considered clean under JRD.But now the whole situation has changed. No Business/industry can thrive without feeding these babus/politicians.Where Ratan made a mistake is that he personally got involved instead of leaving it to his juniors to deal with Nira Radia and the corrupt system.

Now also they are almost clean and that is why they have been pushed down to 3rd or 4 th place in india. Had they competed with others as per the requirement of the power centres, the could have continued their No.1 position. JRD TATA displayed a signboard on the doors of his office roon, saying that " I like to be disturbes always" This may be one of the secrets of their principled growth.
Indian culture says bribe is part of life ..so do all business men bribe politicians for their gain ...also public(most ..police, lawyers, govt employees, pvt employees involved with cash..)..gets and gives bribe...this need a huge change in our traditional culture... lets see wats best in other countries and make it a law...see how v love sound/noise..our traditional music is mostly with loud sound..we r worlds most frequent honkers..littering..
shud not go and hide like the article says.He has to explain to the public on the allegations. Its childish to say i wont answer any question as it wud be futile.Everything cannot fetch many as everyone he speaks to cannot be Radia.
Most of the 'successful' people have dubious and shady backgrounds. The media normally projects them as the role models but when exposed, the people get to see the real person behind the facade... Look at how the Ambanis are projected by the pink papers as though they have come-up by hard work and sincerity - only a few know how the senior Ambani swindled public money and the Juniors are simply following his legacy...
Liasoning with Govt. deptts, is the necessity. What is wrong in it. Instead of punishing the culprits, govt. finds all such diverting means to screw the common man, industrialist or anyone who is niether a politician or bureacrat.
It is the machinery - the government machinery - that needs and creates radias, not the industrialists.
For the latter, the former pushes them into radia and expects them to get to them through proper channels of radias.
Radias are inevitable for the business and industry, because the system created them and established their inevitability beyond any doubt in anybody's mind including ambanis, tatas and batas.
