Tata Ratan is screwed by his legal department. He should have kept quiet as his "mukota" torn by the radia tapes. He is a fool to tell the world that henis reluctant to 15 crores bride and then appoint a loobbiest for the same. Tata group lobbiest has shown the world tata is just like any other unethical corporates and is sewing the public by utterance so their bull shit ethics. This is like Narayana murthy speaking about ethics and become the advisor to SKS micrfinance who is making the poor to commit suicide

Probe TATA connection with 2G Scam
by jibanendra mahanty on Dec 31, 2010 02:29 PM  | Hide replies

From the published report it appears that TATA & Sons also used Radia for lobbying at centres of power, obviously to take undue advantages. A thorough probe must be conducted to identify the TATA linkages and also to estimate the financial gains made by the TATAs through lobbying activities, at the cost of National exchequers.
If necessary, NARCO tests should also be conducted to unravel the truth.
All Beneficiaries of the 2G Scam must be punished.

Radia tapes: What must the House of Tatas do now?
by ConcernedIndian on Dec 31, 2010 02:26 PM  | Hide replies

Why should Rediff waste space and time on such useless articles. True to his profession, the author has given impractical and useless suggestions. Prima facie it appears that the Tata group has benefited from the scam. In one simple sentence the advice is this - go ahead and participate in heera pheri. If you get caught keep mum and pay the fine. Excellent. Second part -- it may be the operator or Min of Home that let out the cat. We cannot put beyond Min of Home Affairs -- he is making leaking an art. So if tapped person is participating in terrorist or anti public activities, the operator should inform the person rather than safeguard country's interests. Our corporate sector has become law and unto themselves. We had MNCs, TNCs (Trans National) Now we have ETC (Extra Territorial) or No Territory Corporations. And we have Management consultants to guide the corporates in this pilgrimage. Sickening Indeed.

No corporate should be allowed to have more than 1 billion.

No individual should be allowed to own more than 1 crore in his/her movable and immovable assets and no corporate should be allowed to have movable and immovable assets more than 1 billion.
Else corruption will never end , there must be an upper bound to the greed for wealth.

Radia tapes: What must the House of Tatas do now?

There has been a hue and cry about leak of the Radia Tapes. Corporates have voiced their opinions against this. Tata himself has gone to SC. The PM has tried to assuage the sentiments of the Corporates. But, what seems forgotten in all this is that Public pressure would not have been there had these tapes not leaked. Corruption would have been hushed up. Who on earth would have guessed that Bharka Dutt/Vir Sanghvi were involved in lobbying? The Radia Tapes gave the people a path to pressure the Govt to act against corruption, the size of which has been unprecedented. So, while it is right to expect that personal privacy should be honored, it should not mean that issues of Public importance gets brushed under the carpet. Even with so much of public anger, it is still possible that the investigation of Raja could still get stalled. Such is the capability of the Indian politicians. So, it is only such leaks that can keep the pressure on the Govt/Investigating Agencies.

I [A Former Engineer in one of Tata's Flagship
Companies] have always held Tatas in very high Esteem as an exception in the murky Indian Corporate sector. However Ratan Tata's action in trying to legally stop publishing
of the already leaked Radia tapes, I feel has damaged him more than the tapes themselves
What was the necessity for Ratan Tata to do that and engage in a slanging match with another smaller Businessman?

Such restrictions are the root cause of corruption. The right thing to do would be to ensure that corrupt are booked, no matter what their status. But, alas, to do that the Political leadership has to be clean. That presently is a tall order.

Right but with a small correction. Tata is probably one of the better Industrialists in the murky corrupt world of Indian business (politicians included).

The point one has to always consider is that it is impossible to do business in India without pay out of bribes. Idealism does not work. Surely Mr. Tata also knows this.
