And even after govt. not spending any money actually on people... fiscal deficit is so high. As usual... people of India are sleeping and not demanding from their govt. to work for them. "As long as it is not hurting me personally.. I don't care"... this is attitude of Indians.
"Today it is hurting someone else, tomorrow it will hurt to me"... we do not even worry about this aspect.

Babus and netas gulp the money through schemes, and declares that this money was spent on people !!
1. Support of people to divisive politicians (Read Thakareys) 2. Suppression of people from outside while all they were doing is filling the requirement gap. 3. Corrupt to core politicians, who used the limited resources like Real Estate, mining etc for their own benefit, all while depriving state the money it could have earned through proper distribution of these resources 4. Arrogance of political class to accept the changing scenario, where other states are working hard to get companies in, Maharashtra instead of taking advantage of existing infrastructure, made it hard to set up industry. 5. PLaying a deaf ear to plight of people in other area of the state, making agriculture suffer.

Maharashtra GDP is twice than Gujarat.. Maharashtra's Economy is 178 Billion USD. Next are UP 105 Billion USD, Gujarat 81 Billion USD.. Maha's growth is 8-9% average if you calculate addition of output then it becomes around 16 billion USD every year..Even with highest growth rate of 11 % Gujarat adds max 8 Billion USD because Gujarat's' GDP is just 81 Billion USD. On FDI ..RBI report clearly puts figures clearly on its website. Maha gets 35% of Total FDI amounts to 15 Billion USD this year..followed by NCR..karnataka and then Gujarat... Maha will cross 200 Billion USD by March 2011. Those who are giving figures in rediff must see these figures... Maharashtra is the most growing states in terms of output.. yes Guj and Bihar on % of growth.. but its the output that matters and that is what creates more jobs and opportunities.., Gujarat has base Oil/mfg/Diamond industries.. Maharashtra has base is Finance, insurance, pharma, chemical, Auto, manufacturing... So those who think Maha is not leading state.. please rethink.. every state has issues so Maha but it continues to be Industrial Powerhouse... jai Hind..Jai Maharashtra..:)
As published, illegal money siphoned out of India is enough to cover all our debts and infuse required investment in infrastructure development.
Sitting on that kind of money and doing nothing to get it back is the reason Indian middle and poor class are not getting enough benefit from all the development going on in the country.
This government totally failed in controlling the illegal accounts and also has failed to bring the culprits to justice.
Fiscal deficit is bad for the economy is a traditional concept, which is not necessarily true. A growing economy requires higher levels of public expenditure. Our poupulation is huge and the levels of public expenditure depends largely upon that number!

it's not bad for the economy but bad for the nation's credibility to keep spending within sources of funds
Dear all , The regressive policies of the state Government are responsible for this mess. Consider these facts: 1. Despite Repeated promises govt has not abolished Octroi-A levy which has forced many top companies to abandon Maharashtra for good. 2. Maharashtra levies max possible Sales Tax on all items. Many times it is cheaper to OFFICIALLY get material from neighbouring Gujarat n Andhra Pradesh,n save money in sales tax despite high trpt costs. If traders resort to quasi legal means they will save even more! Any pleas for reduction in Sales Tax rates like changing the tarrif from 12.5% to 5% are done not on merits of the case but only by the money offered to ministers. 3. All prime plots in MIDC industrial areas are sanctioned to 'unheard of' companies. Most of these companies have relatives of politicians as "Directors". Any genuine company, including Multinationals have to buy the land in MIDC by taking over these unheard of companies at Astronomical prices. 4. Neighbouring areas of Mumbai-Thane-Navi Mumbai-Bhayander,all have different autorickshaws. Artificial borders have been created between these neighbours.First the government did not allow the rickshaws to cross over, now the govt has allowed, but rickshaws do not want the extend their co operation. Result- everyday the aged senior citizens, ill patients crossing these borders have to change rickshaws, walk a fair distance, waste time! The whole of Europe is trying to unify and strenthen,

Maharashtra politicians are "AADARSH" for all national and international politicians. They are showing world the innovative ways of corruption, land grabbing, extortion, kidnapping, vote rigging etc etc.....(neverending list). Each and every minister in cabinet is worth few thousand crore rupees. Their sole goal is make as much money as they could to loot this country. Jai ho...
