This is back to past
by shlok on Dec 03, 2010 12:42 PM

This move is back to past where air travel was only for rich and not a common man. Not sure why they cant run a similar model like Ryanair or similar low cost airlines in UK. Bribing ministers will not pull these airlines from the hole rather they should use this money on implementing better strategies. This is a worry coz if airlines gets expensive, railways anyways is in wrong hand thanks to UPA how will a common man travel..God Save India ....

High air fare
by TOOLS BANGALORE on Dec 03, 2010 12:32 PM

What these cong men are doing is to take India in to 13th century where all people are traveling by bullock carts.
How do they justify such high fares? I think Meera has a say in these transactions also. In one of her conversations she has told Praful Patel the Civil aviation Minister has got 15000 cr.
If everything goes asper plans the entire Infrastructure Industry will collapse. Fist the Load for each flight will become within 10% and due to this the no flights travel from each airport will be still less and further people who have invested in Airports and allied Business will get killed. Our own Industrialists Ministers MPS and MLAS will get their share and Keep smiling.
LONG LIVE LOOTERS - ESPECIALLY CONGRESS SPONSORED ECONOMIC TERRORISTS

first I'm not sure what you mean comparable with USA.. USA is a super power. please stop comparing with USA just because we have some IT companies..

this is the problem with rich people like you who think India is like USA.

we need trains and food and shelter, not planes. We need free housing for aam admi like me not airports and plane for rich like you

what I wanted was the cost comparison. that indicates the efficiency of the industry. the no.of domestic passengers in India and USA are comparable.

if the majority opinion demands that the airlines passengers should subsidise the rail and road travel, it is OK. higher taxes will do it. but efficient operation is essential requirement in all cases.

Conspiracy by Govt and Private Airlines
by Kabadan Y on Dec 03, 2010 11:48 AM  | Hide replies

I think there is a very sinister design behind this whole issue. We all know for sometime that airlines are hurt by rising costs and they wanted either hike the ticket cost or the taxes on petroleum products and other taxes be brought down to help improve their margins and Govt never heeded to this advice. Now the scene looks like a planned loot by all parties concerned. The airlines will come with a proposal that will show their intent and the govt will conduct a drama via the media that they are so concerned about the traveler's plight. In the end the govt will negotiate and agree for something in between (say 20K instead of 40K). The media in India will just report that bcos of their focus they could bring down from the proposed fee structure. Every one will claim victory, but alas the people will be paying through their nose in the end. This is called collective loot.

All Economists say - with competition the prices will come down and service will improve .In India it is more competition more costs and less service .I have been travelling quite a bit - all the airlines are invariable late and have often seen shouting matches between the airline staff and the passengers. The Air line staff have skin as thick as Rhinoseurer and they just do not bother . They all form informal cartel and then dictate the prices.
Another example is the DTH - I have been using the Dish TV for so many uears - when I went to DTH it was because the cable TV with the support of Politicians and goons monopolised in each locality - the signals were poor service atrocious .With DTH my experience has been pathetic - the agents dictate - we will send service person after three days ,two days etc. So it is not suprising that Air lines want to charge a bomb.Best time for Railways to improve service -s0 would like to travel by Rail .see Hyderabd to Mumbai is one hour few monutes flight - you reach one hour before so you start one hour early then you have 2- 3 hours delay and then getting you luggage another 30 minutes -adding all these it may make sense to tkae a terian in the night and reach early .RRailways should spped up the trains and Air lines will be then used by rich and those whose fairs are paid by organisations.

Loot the public...
by p sadfd on Dec 03, 2010 11:22 AM

This is all about cheating the innocent public...Air India is already charging hefty fares in few sectors...There are hell lot of examples...Like T3 is made at Delhi airport...horrible services...No ground staff...Especially Air India, they are the worst in the business, my personal experience has been very very bad with these guys...but what to do the govt employees are forced to travel by this airlines to feel the pain for there services....
