usa the villan
by Karthavya on Sep 26, 2009 11:12 PM  | Hide replies

The US consumes 25% of the world's energy with a share of global GDP at 22% and a share of the world population at 5%. Per capita energy consumption of United States is 11.4 kW, India is 0.7kW. Now tell who are the real villans? Indians or yankees?

The USA is occupying more land and other resources of the world per capita. We should fight for a free one world without boundaries, passports & visa so that everybody ultimately should enjoy all resources of world equally. The target for the free world should be year 2030. All people in oppressed countries of the world should unite and fight for ultimate goal of establishing the free world.

Indians are villains, because all they want to do is sit on their fat behind and do nothing, this is the first time they are being forced to do something. earlier the world gave a rat's fart what you did with your country, and how you managed your millions of idiots. now the lazy toads have to show results, so they are talking about per capita consumption

Per capita emission
by Sriram Rajaram on Sep 25, 2009 04:59 PM

India should stick to the stand of per capita emission. It is unfair to compare the emission of large countries with small countries. We are probably one of the lowest.

since u have said one of the pollutest so i think u must have some hand on experience visiting other countries or some data to support... vehicles are not only contributor to pollution rather...by traditional music are u suggesting devotional music played at the time of pooja or say early moring prayers ?

Who is responsible.
by rahul on Sep 25, 2009 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

Its not the question at all that who is more responsible for climatic depletion. Its not the question at all that can we reduce 40 percent consumption. Its not the question at all that whether developing countries can go for higher level of emissions. However, Think can we improve ourself. Can we leave pure air and pure water for our coming generations rather than the piles of money. Afterall, Pure air and Pure water is more worthy than any amount of money. So think, do you love your children? Do you want them happy in future? Or do you want them to die intoxicated?

Lets not wait for government to decide what to do, try to improve ourself and spread this feeling. Tell me don't you do anything among these?
1. Using shower wastes 5 times more water than using bucket.
2. Hiring an auto which doesn't have silencer, usually spreads 3 times more air pollution and Sound Pollution.
3. Switch off ur lights while sleeping and leaving the house.
4. Switch off the vehical on traffic light, you can drag it a meter or so in heavy traffic, little bit of physical excercise.
5. Don't use Polythenes, ask for paper bags in showrooms.
6. Washing a car with a drench cloth can save 3 buckets of water every day.

Do something for your children, its not just the money that you leave for them is going to matter in future but also the good environment so that they don't spend that money to hospitals.

Ii AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENTS, SO FAR AS IT HELPS THE COUNTRY TO SAVE THE RESOURCES. HOWEVER THE FACT REMAINS THAT USA IS REALYY CULPRIT. IT DOES NOT WANT TO CARRY THE BRDEN OF ITS OWN WRONG DEEDS. ON THE CONTRARY IN THE NAME OF AIDS & HELP, IT FEEDS TERRORIST COUNTRIES LIKE PAK THAT BUYES THE ARMS TO CREATE TERRORS IN INDIA.

DOUBLE STRATEGY OF USA IS GOING TO HURT ITSELF ANYTIME...

India must lead from the front
by Sebastian Cherukanam on Sep 25, 2009 12:55 PM

When it comes to Nuclear disarmament, I say all nations having nuclear weapons must lead from the front by working together in the direction of making our planet a Nuclear Weapon Free World and thereby setting an example before the rest of the world. But when it comes to working on climate change, I say all nations including India and even the poorest nation, instead of blaming developed nations, must be ready to lead from the front and the developed nations will follow at least in shame and the world will respect the initiator. Let the living beings survive anywhere on this planet even at the cost of our lives, this must be our approach towards this grave issue. I want to see India taking such a bold initiative and if India does that, it will help India to be a true leader in the international affairs. For working on climate change, changing our mindset is the first step. May the coming generations praise us for our farsighted visions and actions.

Emmission Targets
by Ramsingh Sachan on Sep 25, 2009 12:54 PM

As a technologicallyand scientifically advanced and competent country, India must float its own just and workable formula for cutting the quantum of fossil fuel emmissions to the global environment.Otherwise, proposals similar to NPT and CTBT will follow and developping countries may have to face identical dilemma of accepting or rejecting the same.

What a joke
by John Lennonn on Sep 25, 2009 12:47 PM

Is it a bl,,,dy joke or what,, emission reduction ,, i live in a major metro and we are supposed to follow the latest euro norms , however if you drive accross the city and see the smoke coming out of all the autos and small carriers, this enforcement looks like a living joke. In India even if the laws are in place, who can ensure their enforcement,, so even if they accept it, ground realities wont change.
