Iam an Indian living in Dubai for more than 4 years now. UAE is the best country in the world which actually suits the proverb which Indians usually say in INDIA but lacks...ie "UNITY IN DIVERSITY!!".
UAE is the only country where only 20% are actual citizens and 80% are from 130 countries of the world but still we are united!!!. Here the rules are strict, no one should tease women, gives best salary to an individual!, No income tax on the salary!!, No parking charges, Live with dignity!.
Sometimes I feel King rule is better than politics to develop a better nation!.

brother u will not say this if you have stayed here even for 1 week!. Their hospitality is amazing...They like indians very much and so they give very responsibility based jobs...
UAE country is not like: 1) They are not like the kannada people where they shout slogans for not screening Hindi movies in karnataka! 2) They are not like Shiv sena's people where they beat students who appear for exams in their state. 3) They are not like tamils who dont respect Hindi language eventhough it is our national language and viceversa the north indians make fun of southern people.
We are Indians only when it comes to watching cricket but we are not united in the least degree.
Dubai is the only city on earth which has developed 100times faster than any city of every think of!. It has tallest building in the world, the biggest luxury hotel ever made on earth is in dubai! and many more... most importanly you can earn 10 times faster than what u earn in India!.

Yes I agree that many had lose jobs in dubai who are in banking sectors ...etc. But Iam sure they would have already saved 70-80lakhs easily and which is sufficient to earn a luxurious life in India..

empty tall buildings cant feed 80% of population...u may be one of those few lucky who is living either in a cramped studio apts or sharing ...ask those who stay in labour camps in inhuman condition...allthx to kings fooolish real estate ambitions....good now its all shattrerred..

Nobody is forced to sell there house and work as labourers abroad... if they have no issues then y u guys who have not even seen dubai in world map and with few half baked info have to reply

Labours in Dubai are treated far better than Labour being treated in India by local contractors. Dubai has strict labour laws and therefore all the labours are safe. They are paid regularly as per UAE Labour Law and being regularly and thoroughly checked, verified by Local Labour Officers....Bribe, corruption is negligible in Dubai and this is treated as criminal offence.... Yes, if in Inflation, any employer shuts their the shutters the concerned labours have to go back to their motherland after cancelling their visa. But they are also paid one month salary in lieu of retrentchment as per UAE Labour Law before leaving the country.

Many articles have appeared in newspapers about how badly labourers are treated in dubai. there passports are taken by their employers when they land.
they cant switch jobs.
some labourers dont face problems, but some labourers face hell.

Regarding surrendering of passports to be illegal as per Indian law, it is funny that you expect UAE govt to uphold Indian law, when the Indian govt is pretty much unable to do the same in India. Jobs can't be changed because the employers sponser the work visa, so if the job changes visa automatically expires. Instead of blaming Dubai , you can do something to alleviate the condition of workers in India, which is much to speak of. Example : Many workers are shown as daily wagers so that PF for them is not submitted. Then the greatest thing is that govt officials, even judges embezzle PF funds. The fact remains that UAE is a better place to live and work which can be confirmed from the quantity and quality of migrants there : from labourer to engineers and doctors.........

I am working with textile company in exports ; i am visitng Dubai regularly; the rule of surrendering passport to the employer is applicable not only to labour but also to senior staffs working in almost all middle east countries; UAE , Kuwait, Saudi

they dont take passport from officials in higher hierarchies for refraining from going to other companies but for getting them elongated visa. In case of laborers they take it and ill-treat them. Most cases go un-noticed. More over its against law of INdia that citizen surrender passport to some foreign PRO(check the notes section in the last page). Its ILLEGAL

It is too early to say that Dubai has gone in the docks. No doubt Dubai is in debt. But looking at this fast growth of Dubai, this debt will definately overcome. Hence nothing to panic. Keep faith in Almighty... Expatriates specially of workers category should be very careful while coming to Gulf. They should not believe the agents. They should get the confirmation from Emigration or from Indian Embassy about the recruiters and then enter GCC...

i think some Indian fake travel agents sent him Dubai illegally from Ship and now he is working illegally their under the basement. So its not fault of Dubai its your agent did. There punishment and strict rules for all.

Dubai has never treated Indians as street dogs... Dubai have strict labour laws and every labour problems are taken care of. Labours in Dubai are better treated than labours treated in India by Indian Contractors.
India is only country in the world where people can live as per their wish. We have all the possible things in the world, still facing lot of problems.A comman man in india is still struggling, all the expenses is increasing day by day.but comparing to expenses, the pay scale in india is very low.I have not seen or heard a person or politician who have spoken about increase in comman mans pay scale.only govt. employees pay scale is revised every year.India can only grow by increasing a comman mans pay scale.

People can live the way they feel?? Don't think the women in villages would like to live spending most of their time fetching water. Don't think most the aam admi would like spending hours before the government servant and greasing his palm to make him do what he get paid for. Don't think many want to live in the slums of city, but have no option. Don't think many people want such kinds of delay in our justice system. Too many issues to gloss over to make the kind of statements you are making.

increase in pay scale should be an affect. It is important to clean underlying systems. Simply increasing pay scale will only lead to inflation and no effect on the standard of living.
